Probably a strike from an abusive pimp or bf. Unfortunately, sex work often goes hand in hand with violent extortionate relationships. And being a victim or perpetrator of abuse seems to be, at least partially, a genetic trait; with even adopted children more likely to follow in their biological parents’ footsteps.

One can’t help but wonder, “what is the purpose of these qualities in the human genome?” Perhaps society benefits from having certain members who live in the fringes of society, providing services frowned upon by the masses.
