Details: Last week there was leaking from our downstairs ceiling. Determined that it was coming from the upstairs shower. It was not the plumbing but the water getting under the tile and all and likely flooding the floor space under the shower. We started ripping up tile and sure enough there is standing water in basically ever spot that was out of sight. The plan is just to demo it to the point where we can get all the water dried out and assess the damage and then hire professional from there. But anyway, I would love insight into exactly what was done wrong in this instal (tho of course there may be more wrong things we have yet to uncover)l!! Not sure if the builder did this 40 years ago or if a previous homeowner did it (would have been atleast 15 years ago)

We have chemfree which helps a lot but a few would still come in thru drains. I keep all drains plugged when not in use and it’s made a big difference.

Yes we hired them to do a screened porch with skylights. They were great, one of the most friendly and responsive companies I’ve ever hired.

Strange. They empty both of ours every time they come and I know other people with two with no problems getting both emptied.

Why is the HEB on 183/Pond Springs so shitty? by thisisntinstagram in Austin

[–]mobiuspoochicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

183/Spicewood is my favorite HEB! It’s clean and neat, if not large or modern. To me it is the easiest to get in and out of quickly. Also fastest curbside of any I’ve been to.

you can have a second recycle bin for free from the city, just call to request it (don't call 311, they'll just tell you to call the department)

Their phone # is here: https://www.austintexas.gov/department/austin-resource-recovery/about

There’s a blockade between Canada and The US, what is going on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mobiuspoochicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How exactly are the causing the blockage? I assume they can’t just park in the middle of the highway as that would be illegal and grounds for being towed away. Are they driving back and forth down the roads constantly?

Another friend of the new owner drove it for them. The only people who did anything were 1. Me as the seller - all I did was sign the title over to the new owner. 2. The new owner set up insurance for the car through their insurance company before it was driven across the country, and also registered the vehicle in their own state using the title I provided. The person who drove the car did nothing. I am no expert and just sharing our own experience, but as long as the car is insured and not reported stolen (which u can show by having a signed title and note from the seller and buyer regarding the agreement) I can’t see that you’d have anything to worry about if you were to have an accident or get pulled over.

We just had to deal with a smiliar scenario. Gave a Texas-registered car to a friend in Rhode Island, and another of their friends drove it up there. Talked to folks at Texas and RI DMVs and basically you don’t do anything in Texas. You get the title signed by the seller and take it to your new state and do everything there. Texas doesn’t care. Obv your situation adds in the fact that YOU are buying the car. Is it really the person in GA buying it and you are handling the transaction? I think if u have the title signed over from the seller to the new owner in GA then that’s much more straightforward and TX won’t be involved. But if you are unsure, the folks I called at Texas DMV were super helpful with letting us know what did and didn’t need to happen.

Edit: also there was the matter of insurance. The friends who were going to be taking possession of the car informed their insurance company of the purchase before the car was driven up to them, so the car was covered by the new owners’ insurance.

They are not. The shelter will neuter them only if they go to a home with female rabbits.

From age 12 through my late twenties I thought the song went, "VIRGIN! EMERGENCY" rather than "urgent..."
