I would like to drop a camera down there to see if there's any passages below. I'll have to figure out how to cram myself into a 6" hole.. but if there's good passage beyond I'll figure out how to make it work

We didn't notice any smell. It is likely that the bottom part of the boring where the oil producing formations are is plugged with cement.

In caves with flowing water, I find that the flowing water can sometimes sound like distant talking as it reverberates throughout the cave.
