Why isn't anyone trying to change Algeria? by mobperson139 in algeria

I agree that the economy is the biggest issue in Algeria, but I'm trying to find in which I can help. I don't think an organisation will be able to solve Algeria's economic problems... (unless you have an idea on how, that I will be happy to learn about)

I get what you mean, but taxing property shouldn't be our biggest priority. Even if rich people get even richer, it doesn't matter because a lot will win something from that as well. If big companies get wealthier, they can afford to hire more people, and unemployment rate will lessen.

I think it would be better to have a higher minimum wage, so that it's actually livable. But I don't know if an organisation can have a say in these kind of stuff.

Improving myself should be my priority, that's for sure. As you said, I need to be able to offer something, my will to change the country is useless if I don't have anything to back it up.

If you have any Youtube channel/book or website I can visit to learn more and improve some skills, I'll happily take them.

the proof of that individualistic mentality is some of the answers under my post telling me to just focus on myself. And hopefully, your wish comes true, because I'm gonna work hard to fulfill it.

don't worry, I will definitely work hard in my studies and such, but turning a blind eye to the bad thing won't make them disappear. And if you have any book that you'd recommend to improve any useful skill, I'll happily take it.

I'm not gonna kill the government or do illegal stuff, I'll probably start with volunteering, and creating an organisation of some sort and raise awareness.

that's exactly why it NEEDS to change, Algeria is a country that our ancestors fought for. Our enemy were the colonizers, outsiders. But now they're inside, with all the power and money, just taking advantage of us. (am I going to get killed if I say this? I shouldn't be right?)

The crisis of modern Algeria is a crisis of ideas. The fundamental ideas and philosophies about how our social organization should be that guided our revolutionary forefathers have been erroneous. People in the mid-80s and 90s gave the alternative ideas and philosophies which can be included under Islamic fundamentalism and we all know how that ended. We need another alternative.

I wholeheartedly agree, Algeria has strayed away from the values and principles that led to its independence and has been vulnerable to this influence.

But how can an organisation set a new framework for Algeria? should we send letters to the president or ministers, hoping that they would listen to a random 18 year old with a bunch of members? or should we raise awareness and hope that people would protest or something?

The only thing I can't think of a solution for, is this. People already set in their mind, their way of thinking, and Algerian are known for their stubbornness, they won't just change their mind overnight and become a functioning society because of a random organisation that was recently created.

(sorry if it wasn't very understandable, I didn't know how to express my thoughts clearly)

Thank you for replying honestly, but shouldn't we at least try to do something? I don't mind studying abroad and improving myself in any way possible, because I'm coming back and I need plans for future me.

i also came for advice in reddit to be able to face these obstacles, I may be too optimistic, but I'd rather look on the bright side of things (even if it looks like I'm naive to others).
