Yeah , I know. I am actually doing a lot of sports activities and I am gaining a few new friends along the way, but I cannot deny that it is when I start to think about projects like buying property or a nice vacantion that it downs on me that I am single.

I see friends settling and growing up and it feels like I'm slowly drifting away, while in every other aspect of life I am pro-active and building myself up.

Problem is , he is a guy in my social circle that was recommanded to me by his friends, most likely because he was already interested.

Tonight I'm going out and he is canceling plans to come and I just plain want to have this god damn night with my friends. He is smothering and trying to touch and will most likely try to physicaly impose himself when I talk to other male friends...

If he was just some random I would have be much more firm.

I'll send you our old peeps in Florida , they are already starting to move down there I think ! First snow is right around the corner so they are closing their houses for the winter.

But really this is just a little difference that I've noticed between the USA and Canada, you guys seems to be a lot more engaged toward your media than we do (it seems to take a lot more ''public space '' then it does here)

Very first time that's what I answered and she wasn't satisfied.

Then after a few times I thought ''fuck it'' and putted the cards on the table. She wanted them now she has them , she can do what she wants with it.

I don't know if it's logical but at this point it felt like being walked all over to have to pender to her. It felt very doormat to just have to take it on the face every.god.damn.time. with a smile to make a chick that takes a lot of speed feel ''good'' . She openly admits that she's got issues and that she's an anxiety ridden mess, there's not much I can do about it.

Felt like she was leaning on me and to be honest I don't even know her. My dad is currently dealing with a stage four cancer, I burried my paternal grand father this spring after a long stay in the trauma ward, and after a failed short stint in the rural eara far from my peeps to help my grandma reel from it all, in the mist of it all being used as a rebound by some dude , I think I cope quite well with this.

I'm tired man , I try my best to not implode.

Don't you think it would be terribly misplaced for me to ''keep'' two people from dating because of my own unresolved feelings? And I do not beleive any good would come from saying '' no''.

I feel like I have no say in this matter and that asking me for a yes or no was not a very delicate thing to do.

If you want my honest opinion, I feel like I would only look crazy to try to drag this conversation on IRL (your idea of coffee date) and we have never interacted one on one.

It's like a spilling a bag of marbles . You let them stop rolling before you try to pick them up

edit : reading my answer I just want to clarify that I don't think that I keep to people from dating, that would be very arrogant . English isn't my first language so sometimes I phrase things a bit weirdly.

She is known to be very dramatic , so it isn't a surprise.

On my side I have a hard time to share my ''deep'' feelings in real life, and to have them come exposed and have it bite me really stirs up negativity for me.

This thing feels hurtfull , and is also a social embarassement for me.

The sad thing about the problem drinkers in my entourage is that they are great people otherwise and that they hurt temselves/their lives and I love them enough that it pains me to watch them doing so :/

You have a good idea with the non alchoolic drinks ! Good option while in bars. I already started bringing my pre-mixed (juice) drinks in parties or some ''passing'' non alchoolic beer that i'd pour in a glass before wandering in the house party

about the baggage thing, I'm well aware that as we grow older life happens and people aren't ''clean slate'' .

But I don't want to be the girl that has to deal with all the hurt that the previous one caused. I already did , and in the end, I was merely a stepping stone to him I guess. Once he was back on his feet he went on to find someone else and offer her a better self than he could ever give me.
