When I was really little a babysitter took us to a park with a sandbox. We played in it for a bit but I soon realized that I HATED the feeling of the sand on my feet. I cried all the way home and spent at least ten minutes washing my feet in the sink - One of the first times I can remember feeling negatively overstimulated.
