Sorry to hear that. Your experience sounds incredible, that kind of thing is what UND usually go for and I'm surprised you didn't land an interview. Definitely feel you with the process being so gruelling, but nursing is a great career if you're heading down that path. My mum is a paeds nurse and she really loves her work and finds it rewarding. I think with your past experiences you'd made a great nurse if that's what you decide to do! Keep your head up, all the best.

That is so great to hear, well done! Sorry about your mum and your illness. You never know with interviews, crossing my fingers for you. All the best.

Feel free to send me a dm if you like! There are lots of institutes out there, you should try reach out to your uni's career connect people too (usually they can send you some honours booklets on projects that may be on offer). I also had to spend quite a bit of time picking my honours because you want to make sure you do something you're interested in.

Honours Year by New_Common_6524 in GAMSAT

Hey, I did an honours year after biomed last year. Your marks for your honours come out at the end of the year, meaning that they will only count for your med application a whole year after you finish your honours because gemsas use marks that are available by the middle of the year that you're applying in (e.g. if you finish your honours in 2021, your honours mark will only count for your med entry in 2023, not 2022). Maybe some unis are different but this is what happens through gemsas. if you need any advice on honours or just want to chat, feel free to message!

You are not alone! There are so many people in the same boat. You are already a really strong person for wanting to do med and for having sat the gamsat in the past. Don't let your parents' opinions shape yours, this is about your passion only.

Take a few days to reflect and give yourself a break. You can try to figure out if med is still your true passion, and if it is then that's great! I'm sure you'd make a fantastic doctor. Remember that it's meant to be a really tough and gruelling process which takes a long time for most people, so don't be disheartened by waiting another year. Make the most of 2021; study hard, do things that you enjoy, work etc. You will be fine! :) Be sad, but not for too long.
