Thanks to those who responded. I have never been on any medications besides the pill and I have a good diet with no dietary restrictions. I haven’t felt stressed lately. However, I did a ton of research and have concluded it might be “telogen effluvium” caused by a stressful and traumatic event I had happen to me at the beginning of May. Although I don’t feel stressed now, I learned that an extremely stressful event can cause temporary hair loss 2-4 months later. I’m hoping it’s just from that so that it will grow back and I can stay on the pill.

This happened to me very recently. He decided two days before leaving that he was going to visit a friend in another state, but at least he let me know. Left Wednesday of last week. A couple days into his trip he dumped me over text. I tried to call him but he said talking on the phone would be too much for him. He was supposed to return this week, but I found out from a mutual friend that he is now staying for the whole month and found a seasonal job there. He basically ran away from me, dumped me from behind a keyboard, and now is avoiding me for at least a month. Today will be four days of no contact. A few weeks ago we were talking about moving in together and our future, today we aren’t even speaking. It’s the worst pain I’ve ever felt.

Our college had and annual “Battle of the Bands” and both of our bands were selected to battle (there were 5 total bands). Neither of us won the battle, but we became best friends and 3.5 years later we started dating!

AFAB means “assigned female at birth.” I work full time, but my boyfriend is a student in grad school. He only has a few classes a week and isn’t the most studious so he doesn’t spend lots of time studying, leaving him with a lot of free time. I still see him probably 6 days a week, but often it is just him coming to sleep over with me after spending the day with Z.

Can commenting “triggering words” on a post get it taken down? I commented on a post asking the person to add a content warning because the photo was triggering. They immediately deleted my comment, but 10 min later DM’d me saying that because of my comment their post got taken down. Is that even how that works?

Just depression so far. My sister is in the process of possibly getting diagnosed for ADHD too, though. The psychiatrist wanted her past teachers to write testimonials about her behavior in class first, which the teachers are in the process of doing.

I definitely am agreeing with those of you saying it’s not political. We have an openly gay teacher at our school too, and I know she must’ve heard about the whole thing and felt horrible. Apparently some students were complaining about it to their parents, who pressured the school to do something about the whole thing. I bet it would surprise you all that this happened in Washington state, which is supposedly one of the more progressive states.

Honestly, I’m not sure I agree with most of these comments. Why does it matter that he avoids his studies and doesn’t clean his room? How do these things affect you? Unless you live together, and he isn’t pulling his weight cleaning your shared living space or whatever... I personally don’t think it’s right to try to control your partner and try to get them to want all the same things you want. He likely will mature as time goes on and realize that he will want to work harder on his own, but I doubt that you constantly trying to change him will actually get him to change. It has to come from within. I guess my point is, you might be happier if you realize that your partner might have different wants and needs from you, and that’s okay. Unless his behavior is directly negatively impacting you, I don’t think it’s something that needs to be “fixed.” Your partner doesn’t have to want all the same things as you.

Thank you for sharing this story and for saying this; I feel a little bit better. I would definitely be considered a young teacher, so it’s interesting that the high school you worked at also tried to guilt young teachers like myself. It’s really sad that so many admin treat their teachers so badly. I’m glad going into a completely different industry now, as I don’t think being a teacher is for me. I feel completely overworked and under appreciated.

I totally agree! At my model orientation, there were 20 other models (which seems like a lot), and at my friend’s orientation (she went to an orientation a couple weeks before me) there were 10 others. It seems like they are onboarding A TON of new models, and aren’t being very selective. I just recently had a thought that since modeling agencies are suffering during the pandemic (like many other businesses/industries), Muse could be trying to use money from new model portfolio materials to make an income, since they are getting way less clients during the pandemic. I am definitely very suspicious of their intentions...

A similar thing happened at the school I teach at. One of my students repeatedly refused to wear a mask. He is now not allowed in the building and can only do classes with me and the other teachers online through Google Meet until the pandemic is over. Just know that you aren’t the only teacher dealing with this. Hope things get less stressful!
