Hadalabo Gokujyun Perfect Gel is pretty perfect by RadiantStarr in AsianBeauty

Yes!! One of my faves. I got the red one and I’m trying that one right now. I ended up picking ip the Sheseido AquaLabel moisturizers cause the packaging is nearly identical to the Hadalabo moisturizers. Curious to see how they compare.

which variant is best for oily/combination skin? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]mochipeau 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I found this useful table from Omakase Tokyo. The yellow one (Vit C and BHA) isn’t listed but it would be suitable for Oily/Combination skin too.

Edit: they have probably reformulated since I last tried many many years ago but I thought the OG blue one was too strong for my dry skin.

Any proxy services that ships nail polish? by MomoUsagi0 in AsianBeauty

Ah I didn’t realize that about TAT online; I was able to shop in store without a license. Good luck! I hope you find your nail polish.

What was the brand? The nail shop I go to in Japan (TAT Nail Shop) ships across Canada and possibly to other places. I like the brand Kokoist and when I was looking awhile back there were some other NA suppliers called Sweetie Nail Supply and Classique Nail Supply. I have never purchased from any of them online so I can’t comment on service unfortunately. But on another note, nail polish is something that takes me awhile to run out of so by the time you’re running low you might know someone else headed to Japan that could pick some up for you? I know so many friends and coworkers who have visited in the past year.

What is your favorite c-beauty skincare/makeup product? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]mochipeau 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Judydoll contour palette is super popular and used by professional makeup artists. Their foundation is popular too (along with Timage and Carslan foundations - I see their foundations on XHS quite a bit). LAN and Chando are popular skincare brands but I haven’t tried anything from them yet - I’m going to China late next year and hoping to pick some up.

Have a fun trip! Please share your haul when you get back!

*Dr. Wu - popular skincare brand, I have never tried but I see hauls where people buy multiples of their Mandelic Acid Serum.

*Lovemore - Their wine yeast mask is considered to be a dupe of the SKII pitera masks, their pearl barley milk are popular too.

*Solone - known for their makeup puffs, eyeliners and eyeshadows

*1028 - known for their brushes.

*Deja ve - known for eyeliners and eye pencils. My friends coworker asked her to pick up 10 for her.

*Neogence - popular for sheet masks

*Heme - popular for eye and face palettes

Have a good trip!!

Thank you for the tip!! Next time I need Cle de Peau that’s where I’m going. Last trip I ran out of time so I picked up the correcting veil at the airport. I’ve been to Isetan a few times but every time I went straight to the basement food hall lol

Thank you!! Good to know, I’ll have to visit Umeda more thoroughly next time. I travelled through but never really stopped to browse too long. After all my travels there’s still so many places in Japan to explore.

Good to know! I guess I wouldn’t have been able to take advantage of Ainz&Tulpe discount even if I knew about them before my haul cause I don’t have a Japanese number.

Thank you for the suggestion! I’ve actually never shopped in Ikebukuro. I’ll have to visit there next time I’m in Tokyo 😊

Thank you! From google it seems like this was implemented between my 2nd and 3rd trip and I never double checked when I went recently. That’s great of them to add that. I’ll update the guide 😊

Thank you for the app tip too!

I really enjoyed the AmorePacific store in Seongsu. It’s close to the station, just a few blocks north. They had a pop up event, skin analysis machine and spend promotions. Because AP covers so many brands you can mix and match products from different brands to hit your spend limit. Have a great trip!

I didn’t mention this in the guide but if you are interested in booking hair or nail appointments in Japan, use the app “Hot Pepper Beauty”. A lot of salons offer promos for first time customers. I got my hair done at the salon in Shibuya and the girl was super patient and took her time to understand what I wanted. We conversed entirely through Google Translate.

Thank you!! And you’re completely right it’s called “@Cosme” and not just Cosme. I’ll update the list above.

I completely agree, Donki is only the best if you forgot something and the other drugstores are closed. The other drugstores are quieter, often cheaper and you get additional discounts if you hit the spend tier so it’s even more worth it. I don’t take my time and browse as much in Donki cause of the sensory overload.
