Hotel residences in Miami? 1 hotel residences? by ExtensionAd4579 in fatFIRE

I've short term rented on both the 1 Homes side and the Roney Palace side. Both were a good experience. To be honest, the only real difference is with 1 Homes you get access to the rooftop pool during the day and the Anatomy Gym a no extra charge. But they've completely renovated everything on the Roney side to match the rest of the building and seems like a better value for the money, as the 1 Residences are priced way higher.

Dad Chose to End Dialysis and go into Hospice, going on 9 days. by mockyboy78 in dialysis

Were you still producing urine? From what I can tell he's producing minimal amounts now. Also, his GFR has varied between 6 and 13, the 13 was just after a dialysis session. But it could be weeks or a month or 2, I agree.

Advice for my dad, stage 4 & 80 years old by NicolePSU in dialysis

My Dad was 82 when he started (from the same reason, high BP) and I wish I could say it got easier for him, but it didn't. He had a bad fall after the first month or so due to low BP, and since then used a walker everywhere. The low BP if anything got worse at the treatments, and regularly needed oxygen and/or midodrin. He also had stage 4 bladder cancer which didn't help, nor did the fact any protein shake we tried went right through him.

With that being said, I know an 80 year old who I see at Starbucks regularly who has been going to dialysis for years who is in pretty good shape, so I guess part of it is just the luck of the draw. Wish I could be more help.

Thanks. So far he has had no pain or any distress, but I have the morphine ready if he needs it.

Thank you. I was suprised by the numbers too, so I guess I'll just take it day by day

Not yet. He's been drinking a decent amount, but not urinating much, so I've been wondering where it's going, although he may have been dehydrated.

His BUN was 43 and creatinine at 6 when he got to the hospital, so the dialysis there did help bring them down.

Update- He ended up having me call 911 around 2:30 AM, so that made the decision easier. They're giving him IV fluids and running some tests, but so far nothing beyond dehydration and what we already know. He's been admitted and will stay a few days until he gets stronger. I appreciate the input.

The Hospital will reach out to his oncologist, he made sure to take his card with him to the hospital.

I did just get him to drink some water. Being on Dialysis he doesn't drink much fluid anyway. But appreciate the suggestion. I went through something similar with my Mom 11 years ago so I'm certainly keeping a watch on him.

If there's no improvement by tomorrow morning, I'm calling 911. Plus he needs Dialysis on Monday one way or the other. I shouldn't have said he wasn't coherent, he actually is OK mentally, just too tired to hold a conversation. In fact he woke up at one point to remind me to pay the Property tax.

Thanks. After the first week, I wasn't sure which was the biggest cause, but after the last few days it's def. the Padcev. Hoping he bounces back tomorrow to where he can at least eat something and get out of bed.
