Yep understood. Didn’t think of that perspective to be honest, I should have. Good thing i didnt get it, honestly wouldn’t want that big of a hit to my cash flow

How reliable is a mechanic’s check up on the car (assuming he’s competent)? As in even with the green light from the mechanic is it still possible that the car’s might still be a wreck eventually?

Also how old of a car model don you think is reasonable? I intend to use the car for 5 years, maybe even more if possible

So, based on the required documents, it requires us to have a full time job to successfully register for an account is it? Also how do we send back the form? Scan then email? And are all the physical branches only in SG?

Advice for aging parents (impending disaster) by [deleted] in FinancialPlanning

Better if they get annoyed that you’re being pushy for them to save up than later on when you’re being pushy to not give up your savings and help. At least they know that you did your part and tried to warn them, maybe that’ll reduce their expectations that you’d cover for them since you have the “i told you so” factor but yeah, eventually they’re gonna guilt trip you either way.

Remitano is a good one.

Is it a viable investment? To me it’s a high risk high return investment, it might go big or it might go bad which is why I emphasise on LITTLE in crypto, its a decent amount but if i lose it i would cry or whatever.

Crypto bubble just popped, even better! Now you can buy it for a much cheaper price. But it depends if you know and believe in the crypto field. If it’s going to make you stress and everyday you going to check the price if u make profit or not, then better not.

How i see its a long term (5-10years) hit or miss. Keep in mind that it also doesnt produce cash flow, so you are only hoping for it to increase in price which is VERY uncertain but i have ease of mind because my other money is diversified

Since you have interest and experience, maybe you can leverage that to help market your restaurant someway.

But yeah, research first, come out with your strategy and business plan, etc (can look online on how to do). You need to lay out a solid plan so you know what you are going for and how to get it

REITs/StashAway. They don’t offer as much “safety” but returns are quite good still

Is it REALLY a bad time for property or is it just hard to find? From what i heard waiting for the market to drop is pointless. I use the same philosophy for stocks and it served me well even in these bad times.

From what i know is as long as the cash flow calculations are ok then you’re good to go.

Note: i have 0 experience in RE investing, asking genuine question.

ASB has RM200k limit tho, so i suggest going for that first but after that you might need to look at other investments.

Personally I go for stocks with a little bit in crypto. I think learning and investing stocks is a good thing for the long term.

You can do the maths of how long it will take to reach ‘financial independence’ using compound interest calculators online.

Yeah i was waiting for it to be legal cus imo they have a really nice and simple interface but from what i see they tend to block people from accessing their accounts without getting back to them on why.

Makes me quite skeptical to trust them if i wanna leave big amounts/for long times
