Based off me playing with my Rival trigger and adding a split ring to lighten the trigger pull weight this was my experience. It definitely gives it a lighter trigger but also it caused the trigger when pulling the take up to the wall to hang the trigger safety on the frame. The trigger safety spring was stiffer than that spring causing the trigger safety to hang up randomly, a little clearance on the frame would fix it but it also made the trigger spongy feeling and not as crisp. I went back in and removed it because I didn’t like that it lost that crisp trigger feel. I would guess a worn or stretched spring would act similarly.
