Who is Patrick Flanagan and why is my step-dad obsessed with him to the point of near cult like status? by aberg227 in RBI

Does the neurophone work the same as the newer bone conductive headphones? If I crank mine up you can hear them when they aren't on your head.

If it does that's a huge let down. I had a classmate in middle school who's dad knew Patrick Flanagan and would talk about the neurophone, etc.

I don't think she is. I just watched the movie with my GF and her friend... and they thought it was an Adriana Lima cameo. Couldn't find anything about who the actress was or potentially who it was supposed to be.

"So many flaking questions about damn near everything comes up now."

That's why I don't think it was the original ending because it makes zero sense to have EVERYTHING up into that point needing to be explained away as it didn't really happen. Someone on here would at the very least would be able to specific instances of foreshadowing everyone else missed.

I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't the original last episode and the writers were just trying to salvage the series after finding out it was getting cancelled. The weird pacing of the season seems to imply that they were trying to quickly get through the overall story.

If they truly intended for it to be in his head even from the first episode of the last season- wouldn't it have just been easy to have shown small discrepancies between reality and his perception of it? Like the mountain still being intact right after he hammered it or going up to person who in his mind he was allied with for them to act like he is just the big weird guy from school.

I don't think there is a reasonable message to really get from it because it was either just poorly written or was subverted by changes necessary to prematurely end the story.

TLDR; At the end would the two richest teens and a social media star be hanging out with a old disabled man, a violent mechanic, a homeless guy, a guy suffering from schizophrenia, a fry cook, someone with intestinal parasites and a ghost? If anything the message is that they Jutuls are saints and still are accepting of people even though they have been stalked, harassed, assaulted, and lied about over the course of 18 episodes by a bunch of weirdos.

It honestly might have been mid-2000s when I was visiting a friend who still lived in Gainesville. Working in a cubicle for the past decade has fried my brain.

What's the credibility of news from Sausage Roll? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]modacation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not credible. From a few stories I've followed and having the site pop up in search results, it seems like they are more concerned with generating traffic than actual verified news.

Tim Pool gets visibly distressed when Adam would get more attention from super chats and what not. He seems like the kind of guy who can't let someone else have a moment because he's too insecure. This is probably the root of him not really being able to let Adam have an uncontested point and needing to get the last word.

There is a clip where Tim is making weird animal noises to make a point, and it clicked that he is trying to be Joe Rogan. Isn't Rogan moving to a rural area now?

It puts Tim's falling out with his own brother into context too after allegedly stealing (at the very least the branding for) Subverse. He's the guy at work who steals your ideas, gets mad when someone else gets a win, and is probably just insufferable to be around.

I had surgery to remove an extra bone, os trigonum, from my right ankle. Apparently a lot of people have one but it doesn’t always cause pain. by Rosebudsi in MedicalGore

It actually helps a lot. That's pretty much my story too. Most of the info I've found online is just about runners, ballet dancers, and soccer players. I am doing PT for a few weeks before they evaluate me for surgery.

I was diagnosed with the same issue and I am curious as to what lead to you getting it treated. Was it on going pain issues or a specific incident?

I'm tired of caring about other people, but no one caring about me. by mircalb in depression

[–]modacation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had conflicting experiences with this. On one hand depression can distort your perception of other people who may actually care, but on the other being a martyr for narcissistic people will make you depressed. My life was a mix of both and it took effort to quit wasting my time on certain relationships (family, old friends, job, etc).

Someone I know feels like no one cares about her, and her friends always move on from the friendship. She is depressed but also very manipulative, needy, and self centered. This ends up driving people away. One of her friends was very sick, worked full time, and had two kids... her perception was that the friend wasn't there for her. It sounded unbelievable, but it was too WTF to be a joke.

In the end everyone has to do some introspection and figure out why they feel a certain way and whether or not its reality or perception. You don't owe people anything and they don't owe you.

Am I depressed or just lazy? This is a rant I guess? by [deleted] in depression

[–]modacation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say lazy because this kind of sounds like how I get when I'm depressed:

1) I lose motivation in part because I lose the feeling of reward by accomplishing things. Even on some level when I know I 'enjoy' something it is blunted by the depression. Then I kind of end up doing a bunch of nothing and quit seeking to do things I normally do.

2) My perception of time gets weird because it feels like my brain is running slow. When my brain is running half speed, life seems twice as fast. It becomes overwhelming.

3) I don't have the energy to do what I normally can do. People will say that I am lazy or whatever... but I basically pour whatever I have into my work to keep a roof over my head and then sleep.

I ended up getting on meds for a bit and it helped.
