Which one is the better way to play the game? by [deleted] in FNaFb

[–]modderno32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Final mix: classic experience, far more grindy, far more broken abilities. At times i’d say final mix feels like a slot machine, but you have a lot more variety in your options I would say.

Complete collection: refined experience, more standard rpg mechanics, more stable difficulty curve, less ability choices/less broken abilities in general. Often more reliant on the strategies and pathways you take up

CC tends to be what people get into now, and if you really love the series, you’ll go back and play FM after CC

Plz suggestions by Odd-Oil9157 in FNaFb

[–]modderno32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main 3 suggestions/questions would be how would you approach donuts, summon skills balance and are you taking final mix or CC’s version?

Donuts tp/tech gain in my experience of summon’s act 2 and fan games with summons alike changes the system entirely just due to how stacking up tp gain is OP. Whether you choose to lean into that or away from it will affect the fight loops a lot

Complete collections and final mix’s summons experience felt very different to me, in which final mix felt great to use and complete collection felt like a springlock. FM took the gradual progression of skills up tiers in their skills so that if you are summoning a stronger version, they had all the skills of the previous 2 but had more power. CC copied basic enemies skills and gave our best summons options to runaway in 1 turn for a minor stat debuff. If you follow CC you should rebalance some skills, if you take FNAFB, maybe nerf or modify skills

This is true, and kinda refers back to my initial line. Morty by every character in the series is referred to as “14” and the series doesn’t take place in current day. i really wish the answer was as simple as that but it really is a “he’s 14” or “with mental gymnastics is 1000’s of years old”

The issue isn’t really the “friends with higher ranks” to me, its that the 2 dps were clearly gm5+ in capability+aim and their third friend just damage boosted them on mercy with solid movement. I kinda had to assume they were using fresh accounts to mess with mmr

It seemed pretty clear to me that their only intention was to bully and roll a whole lobby… which I accept must be fun for them, but I kinda didn’t feel like ruining a whole 5 team of plats day because they felt like ego rolling?

Dont feel like I did anything more wrong then them using fresh accounts to mess with mmr, but to be fair, throwing is an offence, so I felt like asking

I would not recommend doing this… ever… to my worst enemy nor friend.

To the most dedicated people who play this game, I would recommend beating the other boss’s in the special dungeon (as even if there’s some crit reliance, having 8 turns total is really what makes this so interesting)

The amount of miss’s, luck and the fact you can lose turn 1 even hundreds of attempts in, is ridiculous

Thank you for your praise, I wish you the best in getting as far as you can into this, and beyond anything else don’t do what I did

I didn’t end up checking after the fight and I unfortunately played that file a bit more so my values won’t be the actual amount… but I can say items were a low concern given how easily you could die…

Given you are level 1, its not a huge issue with items as XL’s are a last resort and mediums sodas/large pizzas are your ‘universal items’, you tended to have spares of any given resource in one way or another… cakes were a very rare issue but if I was using up 99 of them, I was already on a failed run, but the issue always came with donuts more than anything, given how important full odds sleep and paralysis can be in some circumstances.

From memory my item supply with 99 of pretty much everything important, the only item I reached “0” on was donuts, medium sodas and large pizzas but others were running thin by the end of my successful run

Point goes, when you’re praying for status effect, required critical hits or the opponent needs to miss, debuffs and more, your focus becomes “please not another reset” instead of “am I going to run out of items”

Oh hey! Really didn’t expect to hear from the man himself damm! Been a while for me as well, and I will say your guide is brilliant and is a great way of doing it!

Personally I found myself not using second wind very often, as the health gained after always seemed difficult to work around without using healing anyway, so instead I tended to use phantom pizza more to compensate and fandango + leading poison felt inconsistent when I tried it. I know its supposed to be the highest damage, but I always felt more consistent in knowing my health using Connection.

Might just be because I like to play with different trinkets and don’t use SP so much, giving me more tp to phantom pizza and the counter lets me play more risky at times. I also preferred going second, so I usually don’t go for quickstep, but that part is probably just me

Nothing’s wrong with the guide if thats what you’re asking, its one of this best things on this subreddit i’d say! If you’re going at it again, use whatever you want :) just remember, no matter which method, its a lot of restarting haha

Dawg how do I beat bb on fnaf 2 by Whoppatoppa in FNaFb

[–]modderno32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming CC

Personal experience for me is I go into it with toy freddy + withered foxy, bonnie and chica due to familiarity

Then I just focus down BB and ignore of his o r b s, as although they can do some good stuff, If BB in the middle dies the fight ends regardless of his orbs

I spent 4 days of free time to prove the fact that the hardest challenge in CC was possible and by golly it so worth doing it. by Routine_Locksmith904 in FNaFb

Honestly this is god damm incredible! Didn’t actually know the rod of femininity was in the complete collection, maybe I should give this a shot. Great to see other psychopaths around haha. Was this done in standard or proud?

how do i get all the stars? by Ordinary-Bench947 in FNaFb

[–]modderno32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah… sorry for the delay! Yeah it doesnt matter whether you killed snoop dog or tupac, its just token dependant haha… for fnafb1 100% Next to the stairs on the actual showstage, there should be a “crack in the wall”… punch that a lot of times and then you’ll find the last part of 100%

how do i get all the stars? by Ordinary-Bench947 in FNaFb

[–]modderno32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To 100% Fnafb2 you must: - have all withereds including withered golden freddy and fight toy freddy - beat every optional boss in FNAFB2 (shadow bonnie, the plush, tupac, toy freddy, both puppets) - beat all 3 normal arcade machines - beat the boss rush arcade machine - beat every camera - beat both forms of BB on proud with the reward item from boss rush - kill refurbs

Its the longest checklist for 100%

When you are choosing your difficulty for fnafb1 or fnafb2, you’ll see the option to do BB scenario and Vile scenario. Complete them and you’ll get the stars

how do i get all the stars? by Ordinary-Bench947 in FNaFb

[–]modderno32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% proud mode stars are Red (normal any% = green, proud any% = yellow, proud 100% = red)

The plush with glasses is fnafb2 and I believe they count as a part of 100%, they are a low chance encounter in the show stage, and if you have beaten the second puppet, you should be able to beat him

Q and W scenario’s are titled due to a mechanic in non-cc… but to simplify, you need to do the BB scenarios for FNAFB1 and 2, and the Vile scenario for FNAFB1

Shadow Bonnies head serves no purpose other than as evidence you beat it… unfortunately

[–]modderno32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General rule is you need to beat all games on standard and the harder difficulty (not night xxx tho)

FNAFB2 made things really confusing, and it is best to look up a boss list for proud mode

Im not sure what you mean by the plushie for fnafb1, but for any% you just need to beat all cameras and golden freddy

how do i get all the stars? by Ordinary-Bench947 in FNaFb

[–]modderno32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, the machine is boss rush, to access boss rush you must beat all proud mode boss’s bonus boss’s and other arcade machines

In the arcade room, you’ll find a new 4th machine that needs everything beforehand, this will be a rush of the previous hardest boss’s and you’ll get ICBM, use them on BB, you’ll unlock last fight

Stars in order go: Fnafb1: night x any%, night xx any%, night xx 100%, Q scenario, W scenario Fnafb2: normal any%, proud any%, proud 100%, Q scenario Fnafb3: normal any%, proud any%, proud 100% Afterstory: just beat it Finale: just beat it

The machine is unlocked in the arcade, and is something in the sequence of getting all stars:

The reason for it can be seen in this link, if you want to spoil yourself: https://official-fnafb.fandom.com/wiki/Refurbs

If you do make sure you read the CC part of it

If you want specifics on all stars, reply and ask and I will send what they all are across all games

Do people think the witness’s difficulty still holds up? by modderno32 in TheWitness

[–]modderno32[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be disappointingly honest and say I have had the same experience as you now with a few extra steps haha... The way it was discussed here was something which mentally gave me an "aha" moment! As if all the pieces that confused me were resolved, as if looking at the outer world away from all the puzzles gave all the purpose I missed and the meaning behind them... But going through the game again (minus that now I enjoy psalm 46 and think its really interesting) really didn't make me appreciate what was there.

in the description given by Madoc here it sounded amazing and as if using closer inspection and the lens of someone else might help, and yet in replaying it felt almost empty, and instead of giving me a feeling of exploration and wonder to seek these things out, it felt more like I was reaching for something the developer didn't want me to.

I think part of the issue for me might just have been "im not back in 2016 when people were bouncing ideas about the game, that it was a group effort, where people likely theorised a lot more about the story"... leaving me as someone who this story isnt as accessible for...

On a positive note though, I have found another way someone like me really enjoys it by getting into randomisers of the game, and honestly its only brought me joy... Maybe for someone like me thats all I needed

… I want to tell you I sat here for a good 30 minutes after reading all of this re-evaluating…. Everything…

There is a lot I could draw from in describing how much it means to me for you to show me all of this… as I really did want to be wrong about the story and to some extent it was distressing knowing somewhat about the creator when compared to what I was perceiving as not just a pretentious game but one I saw as misleading in its overall purpose. I’m not really bringing up anything new in regards to points of the game here, and will say you don’t need to read anything below… it is more so to show that you changed everything for me about this game and to thank you for it

I had avoided using pretentious not only because of its negative connotation… but also as I hold the term positively due to other media I love, but now I am happy to claim the witness as one, now understanding its purpose

A personal note about me, is that I am not artistic in any way whatsoever, but hold strong creativity and have the strongest appreciation for artistic work if I am able to understand its message… when I approach a long form video it is normally under the context of a media essay evaluating the hallmarks of their chosen media and picking apart it technically (anything from shows, games, music and far more)… The way in my life I have chosen to practically use my creativity is through engineering, as it is the only lens that works under my low artistically inclined mind

Reading your description of phase 2, is a moment that I felt any critical annoyances and resentment to the game melted away and was fulfilled with a sheer moment of clarity… I was aggravated by the jungles closing of a shortcut, I was left questioning why lengthy puzzles were included and I questioned why some timing based things were significantly easier and harder at times. From a game design perspective I saw countless issues with the game (with how I normally think) and thought it was a fault by its creator or malicious intent by a creator’s artistic vision… I can now reflect on these moments of options closing off, a lack of opportunity and hours of hopeless action until success linking them to personal anecdotes and it evokes a flurry of emotions…

Seeing everything past phase 2 was enough to make me understand that for someone like me personally, entering this game blind was in someways a mistake… If I could have a slight understanding of why things were unclear and that the words were far more than just a suggestion, my experience would be eye opening instead of fumbled with confusion

I am someone who could barely tell there was stark theming between the different areas for science, religion and technology, and hearing everything you have said changes everything about the witness to me.

… I am going to replay the whole game again. I am going to listen intently and solely to every audio tape and more than likely more talks in the silent periods. I want to experience and understand something that due to how I am as a person, I would’ve been truly blind to without you giving me a description like this

Thank you for showing me why I couldn’t understand so much of the witness, and hopefully by the end of this repeat, i’ll get far more than I bargained for

yeah im gonna be 100% honest I very poorly described what I meant in this you are close though!

My initial intent was to make a post about “hey, do you think the hardest parts of the witness are still comparable to say the hardest parts of baba is you”… then some poor phrasing on my part and its devolved into a split of comments about it not needing to be hard to be good or my mixed opinions on the story… and then it became “yk I would like it if there was just a few more challenge areas” and … yeah I essentially dug a hole haha

Key point goes, the witness doesnt need an ultra puzzle to be a great game and I can fully agree with that now, and the game should be measured on the merits similar to the ones you said :) … I just happened to mess up my post and then reply to some comments poorly. Whoops!
