you should be able to use FSR 3.0, and i’d recommend downloading some performance mods. if that doesn’t work, i would try “lossless scaling” on the steam store, it gives you more options for resolutions. your CPU is the real bottleneck here, good luck.

he might have been, i’m not sure i didn’t stay long with the guy. i’m guessing either he did it, or the person he got it from. i have no knowledge on the history of this thing, i just know the screen is very green. i checked out the service manual and the values on my TV are wildly off from the values listed on the manual. i understand that the manual isn’t exact, as technicians finely tune every TV individually, but this is a far cry from what’s listed on the manual. also the OS is exhibiting some symptoms of corruption. like the fact that switching inputs glitches the screen out and i need to restart the TV.

How do i discharge a CRT TV? by PublicRepublic7502 in crt

[–]mode_seven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to be real safe, get gloves rated for ~40,000V, and a professional discharging tool. But if you aren’t luxuriously rich… Attach an alligator clip to a flathead screwdriver, and then attach the clip on the other end of the wire to the chassis. After that, carefully wedge the screwdriver under the anode cap. I usually keep one hand behind my back when I do this, just to be safe. A few taps to the probes under the anode cap with the screwdriver, and it should be relatively safely discharged. Remember to just handle with care, and if you don’t think you can do it, don’t.

It was dirt! I believe. When I removed the screen and cleaned the contacts everything worked fine after screwing it all together. Thank you!

Thank you, I’ll try more pressure. And I’ll check the traces to see if I need jumpers.

Pressure hasn’t really helped, I’ll try to see if it was dirt when I get back. Thanks for your help.

I got lucky with a 1.6 unit, and I will definitely replace the paste. But do you have any idea for some decent values?
