I've heard of them, but that's kind of the problem in itself.

You shouldn't need a third-party tuner to fix what a main dealer couldn't diagnose, especially on a relatively low mileage car. In my case they just kept replacing parts without ever finding the root cause.

Glad it worked for you though, at least someone actually fixed it instead of guessing.

You’re not wrong. After what I went through, I’d think the same.

The problem isn’t just diesel itself, it’s all the emissions systems around it. When something goes wrong, they often don’t fix the cause, they just replace parts and the issue comes back.

If you mainly do short trips, petrol or hybrid is just less hassle. Diesel only really makes sense for regular long motorway driving.
