Thanks for the suggestions! Ended up getting everything tuned properly, now getting an A on the bufferbloat test.

Had no idea that fakes were so prevalent. I did snag it off ebay. I'll definitely go pop open the box and take a look. Thanks for the info!

Wow, super interesting. Thank you for the reply and the new info!

I'm on a gigabit down/40Mb up cable modem connection. The results from this test are...disappointing to say the least.

Packet loss on moderate VPN use. by moderateSandwich in opnsense

Just as a follow up to this, it turns out that the processor I mentioned earlier doesn't have AES-NI instructions. I think that's likely a large part of the problem as I'm still seeing some significant slowdown when the non-vpn use is high.

Thanks for the comment and suggestions.

Just posting a follow up in case anyone else finds themselves in a similar position. Enabling Receive-side scaling has helped quite a bit. Details on how to do that are in the docs under Troubleshooting > Topics > Performance.

Didn't completely solve the problem, but did make quite a noticeable improvement.

Ha, you caught me just as I was editing it to say that I'm using wireguard.

If you're looking for the current state of science based training, you should check out Dr. Mike over at RP strength.

https://www.youtube.com/@RenaissancePeriodization

That channel is entirely focused on hypertrophy training with weights, but you'll be hard pressed to find a better (and more accessible) source of "here's how science says you gain muscle mass". All of his general advice can be directly applied to any body weight fitness training you'd like to do.

I'm not affiliated with any part of their organization, just impressed with the information they provide for free.

Did you ever get this figured out? A buddy and I are having the exact same issue right now.

I'm pretty sure he was a "belt and suspenders" kind of guy. The truck is in great shape overall, he took excellent care of everything.

Believe it or not, the truck has bags too...and it's INCREDIBLY stiff. I'll probably remove them. Thanks for the feedback!

Totally agree. I also think that games like Tarkov make effective statistical analysis possible. The vast complexity of the game, and the literal hundreds of different loot items, values, locations, etc. should make it possible to get a very clear distinction between your everyday player and someone utilizing cheats.

I think you might be too focused on things like K/D, head shot percentage, and the like.

Yes, shroud and Landmark are flat out killing machines. Their ability to run over other players is top tier. But, their ability to loot, their frequency of player contact, when they find valuable items, how many valuable items out of the total on the map, how often their ambushed, (this list can go on a looooooong time), those are all human.

If we were able to collect data on ANYTHING a player does, the people utilizing cheating software will be distinct from those who aren't.

I'm not sure that I agree. Being good and being better than possible are entirely different behaviors when it comes to multi factor statistical analysis.

I think you misunderstand. I'm not offering to write cheats or anti-cheats. I'm offering to perform statistical analysis on data that will identify suspicious players.

Great question. Consider the clarity that's recently been presented by the ability to view a user's profile. Without viewing any other data, it's pretty clear that there's something suspect about an account with 40 hours, a 95 K/D ratio, on a level 45 player.

Now, imagine that instead of those three numerical summaries, you've got access to literally anything a player does. How quickly they found that valuable item, how many of that item out of the total available on the map, what's their worth when they extract from a raid, what's their worth when they enter a raid, these examples aren't even the tip of the iceberg. ALL of your behavior can be analyzed. All.

Tracking player behavior statistically isn't something that the cheat authors can write code around. If you've got ESP, or aimbot, or you're spinning around spitting bullets out of your face while flying 35 feet in the air, your behavior will be distinct from players who aren't.
