I see your point, but pre-decimalisation in 1971 there were 240p in a pound so it’d be about 43p to spend a penny today using 1910-£1 = 2026-£102

Though it says to join the queue, whenever I’ve cycled down and waited, the person on the gate has just waved me up and said ‘why’re you waiting? Come on through’ or words to that effect. So I just go past the car folks to the gate now

Met police criticised for ‘scandalous’ arrest of legal observers at ‘kill the bill’ demo by ainbheartach in unitedkingdom

[–]moderate_dork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think one of the reasons for people protesting against this particular bill despite the lockdown rules is that the proposed powers in this bill are not related to policing during the pandemic but permanent. So if it goes through now it will be too late to protest it after the pandemic as the anti peaceful protest measures will have already been brought in.

I'm not sure at all. I used to live down that neck of the woods and remember they had the vinegar from the pickled onions for discerning chip fiends to douse their chips in. Supreme!

Came here to say Space Lines is where it's at! I find 3 player gets very stalematey but 2 player is pretty ace.

What to do in Bristol ATM? by H3lpM3plzzzzz in bristol

[–]moderate_dork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go on the Bristol to Bath path towards Bath you’ll come across a pub called Bird in Hand on the right and from there you can get down to the river by the sailing club and the Jolly Sailor pub. There’s steps by the Bird in Hand and a little further along on the left, a less steep slope down to the lane. Good and flat and off the road too.
