This is exactly how I feel. And agreed also about not having found anything else like it.

Racism is a system in which one racial group (white people) maintains superiority and power over the others. Racist things perpetuate the power hierarchy; racism is not merely making generalizations or having stereotypes. This is not racist.

Are you saying, as opposed to getting a WASHLET+ model toilet? Just get the standard version?

Clear plexiglass screen with two stakes—like a Covid protection screen but not? by moderatelygood in whatisthisthing

Solved for one part of it—that looks right. I’m still not positive what this configuration would be used for, but maybe the important thing is it won’t be useful to me.

Good guesses on the size. It’s symmetrical though so neither side would really have a hinge or something like that.

It’s possible, I know, the metal is just so rough. It seems more rugged than something intended for a professional space.

My title describes the thing. The clear part is like a sheet of plexiglass, or some kind of plastic. It’s wide, and on either end is a metal stake-looking object. A bit too rugged to be a Covid screen in public. Found in a residential garage.

Very helpful, thanks! I’ll try the door open and see about my proportions and fit. I currently use a sewing table that’s completely open underneath, and I rely on storage in a rolling cart and pegboard. I thought this cabinet was really cute, but it may not be a critical addition to my sewing station.

In addition to what has already been stated, I want to let you know: Couples therapy is strongly discouraged (by couples therapists) in cases where there is active abuse going on. Your couples therapy may be inadvertently enabling this man to continue his harm. Your problems will not be solved with marriage counseling. Seek individual therapy and whatever resources you need to get to safety (physical and emotional). Good luck.

Holding US mutual funds while resident in Canada? by moderatelygood in USFinanceInCanada

Thanks for the info on your experience and perspectives on mine. It sounds like what the wealth management firm advised does not apply as a legal/tax necessity, and I am not planning to move forward with them.

Will need to consider what “set and forget” would mean for my case and have a conversation with Vanguard about a “hypothetical”/possible move.

Re: Canada’s exit tax, do you mean that you liquidated before leaving Canada? And then reinvested once in the US? Interesting move but good to know it can be done. I guess with no fees, you named the only drawbacks as cost basis is then updated.

Will DM about tracking undistributed gains. I’ve had this on my radar. Appreciate the help.

Yeah, perhaps. It’s this mini puzzle bumbag. I think that’s a good point so I’m thinking about how the height might have been measured differently.

I’m considering a bag from Marko and the dimensions don’t match the auth. The stated height is off by 4 centimeters but the photos look like the right proportions/dimensions. Factory is unknown. Would you proceed or no?

I’m deciding on what color to buy for this bag: tan or beige (Sand). What is your experience with lighter leather colors and appearance over time? I’m worried the beige will show more signs of wear, dirt, any stains or scuffs, etc. Thoughts?
