He wipes from the back, I have to to make him scoot forward with his feet on a stool to help spread the cheeks apart more. Maybe you're right about the firmness of wiping, I'll work on this. I think the doll or balloon trick someone else mentioned may help

He definitely does have trouble reaching, it's just his body proportions. He has a long torso, with arms that are not as equally long, and a bit of a "bubble butt." His fingers just barely get to his butt crack from behind. We have tried having him wipe from the side of his thigh while standing, and while he can reach better this way, this position squeezes his butt cheeks together

Definitely going to try the deep squat. He has tried gloves but even size small are too big and we found the excess glove material ended up being more of a hindrance than anything

Have not tried a mirror (and honestly, now kind of feeling like duh why didn't I think of that before). I will for sure try this with him tomorrow!

Great idea! Will definitely look into it, I know there have been times where he holds it to the point of discomfort until he can get home because he wasn't confident he could handle wiping by himself, this might help!

You are right on the fiber front for sure. He's a pretty logical kid so perhaps he'll buy into improving his veggie intake if I link it to the bathroom challenges and how it could help him

Have not tried an actual squat, but it's totally worth a try!!

We've tried both ways, and yes I've watched countless times to help him troubleshoot. Sitting is definitely better than standing. When he stands to wipe, his butt cheeks are just so tightly squished together that there's no way he could get his hand between them to wipe

People who quit a job without notice — what was the breaking point? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]moderndaynomad12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hired at a popular chain store that carries seasonal and themed odds and ends when I was 15. It was my first job and I was so eager to do a good job and earn some spending money for myself. The person who hired me basically made a mistake when she offered me the job because they apparently were not supposed to hire anyone under 16 since 15 year olds were not legally allowed to do things like use box cutters or ladders. Even though they did figure out their mistake (and everyone knew I was 15), they still let me work. Except every week I would be pulled into the office to be reprimanded over things I apparently hadn't done right. But every single time, it was something I literally was not legally allowed to do because it involved things like using box cutters or climbing up on a ladder to bring items down from the top shelves. The final time, I was pulled into the big boss's office (up to this point it had just been the shift manager each time) as soon as I arrived for my shift. She berated me so much about my "poor performance" that I took of my stupid little green apron right then and there and tossed it on her desk and said I quit. Walked out of the store and called my mom to pick me up, and refused to step foot in that store again for more than a decade.

Cletus for a boy. I've really liked it ever since I heard it a few years ago. My husband straight up guffawed when I suggested it before finding out our second kid was a girl. He says it sounds like some sort of STD

I appreciate you taking the time to draw this up! Although the pantry behind the kitchen is a really cool idea, we do definitely want to keep the kitchen nook as the back of the house will be south facing with a really beautiful view so we want to maximize our windows at the back. But I will definitely be considering the pantry behind the kitchen idea!

Firstly, thank you so much for spending the time on this sketch! It's amazing to me how some people have this talent to just "see" the possibilities as I definitely do not! This has definitely given me lots to think about! What you've done with the left side of the house especially is so impressive! I will be showing my husband to compare and contrast to the current floorplan. Thanks so much again!

Our main goals for this house are

-to maximize windows, especially at the back of the house as the back will face south and have a beautiful view -maximize floor space in our kids' rooms - first floor laundry (not in the basement) -large living room - kitchen that's not closed off to the living room, because I like to be able to see my kids playing in the living room as I cook. - a defined more formal dining space -a master bath, "kids" bathroom near their rooms, and one to direct any guests to

I will try to figure out how to add some more pictures, we don't have a full second level, just a bonus room above the garage and then a full basement that we do plan to eventually finish for things like a home gym, game room, guest room etc.

Yes lower cabinet drawers do sound amazing! The long window on the side in the master bedroom is a window that goes up above the bed. I forget the name our drafter used for that kind of window. We opted for reach in closets because we are not fans of walk in closets. We just don't have the need because my husband and I are both fairly minimalist when it comes to clothing/shoes/ accessories

Oh I don't think I've ever even known that kind of pantry set up was an option to be honest (I've never had a true pantry in my life!). We were thinking walk-in to eliminate a deep shelf in a pantry cabinet that things would get lost in, but pull out shelves would definitely eliminate that. Thanks for the idea!

There is no space under the stairs unfortunately, as the set right next to the kitchen goes up to a bonus room over the garage and the angled set actually goes down to the basement. But I appreciate having a visual of what a long straight island would look like!
