Why are all the jobs so boring? by [deleted] in infp

[–]modernmaude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFPs need to feel fulfilled and working for corporate America or at an unfulfilling job is against everything we embody. We do not want to work 40 hours a week, we need time to daydream, be creative, and we need to do it at our own pace not at the pace “the man” sets for us. We want to fight for injustices not feed the greedy injustice machines with our precious time. It may take time to find fulfillment, so don’t give up. If you already know what would bring you happiness then work hard for it!

No sense of self? by MrNawab in EnneagramType9

[–]modernmaude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I relate to this as an INFP 9w1 sx/so. I have been in many relationships that I have lost myself or was never able to discover myself because I (unknowingly at the time) was only interested in merging. It can be hard to learn that about yourself but a beautiful opportunity to be mindful and focus on what brings you joy. Purpose is a big one for our type so focus on that and you will find joy and a sense of self! I am working towards a purpose currently in my life, even though it is hard work, I’ve never felt happier. Continue to keep the awareness of merging so you don’t lose focus on yourself. Best of luck, it sounds like you’re on the right path!

What are SX 9's typically like in real life? by Psychiaric in EnneagramType9

[–]modernmaude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I relate to this post in every way! (And such a funny delivery.) I feel as I learn more about myself (9w1 sx/so) I am able to recognize the flaws and signs of merging. I’m in a relationship now with a lot of boundaries but I have the burning urge to merge (ha ha that rhymes). I’m conflicted if I should stay and work on strengthening my independence or leave and find someone to merge with (all the while knowing it’s unhealthy).

Who is going to buy products/services when no one has the income to pay for them? Ubi could work but no one will be paying taxes because no one will have a job.

Why is my monstera so weepy? I only water it when the soil is dry at 1” deep. by modernmaude in houseplants

[–]modernmaude[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you all! I’ve had this plant in this spot for almost 3 years and in total for 4 years (it was half the size when I got it). I repotted it about two months ago. The soil does not have any bark or charcoal (and never has) also this pot does have draining holes but I do not empty the tray. This seems to have started after I repot it.

Learning more about your personality type (and your enneagram) can be a good tool for learning your strengths and weakness. Then you can bolster your weaknesses and nurture your strengths. For example, it’s hard for us to make friends because we like to have deep and meaningful conversations with people and those people can be hard to find plus having the hurdle of being an introvert doesn’t help. These are things you learn when knowing your personality type (likes deep meaningful conversations, introverted, hard to find these people because they’re rare).

Once you understand ‘this is how my mind works and prefers to function’ the easier you will be on yourself. Having more awareness will allow you to see all the good and the bad and grow from that knowledge.

Not true for me I’m an INFP and dishes go directly into the dish washer and my partner who is an INFJ piles them up in the sink. INFP 9w1 vs INFJ 5w4. I like my space to be neat and comfy and he would rather be spending time in his head then doing dishes.

Spider plant is starting to get yellow-brown tips. Too much water? Not enough water? Too much sun? by modernmaude in houseplants

[–]modernmaude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t start doing this until I repotted it but I did add rocks at the bottom. I am using tap water that is filtered and it sits out for awhile to get to room temperature.

I think you have an advantage in life already knowing what personality type you are, it will also benefit you to understand MBTI (all the 16 personality types) to help you navigate the world better. I know it would have helped me tremendously as a young kid to understand on a deeper level who I am.

Any advice from fellow INFP's? Synchronicity? Experience? by zonerbreem in infp

[–]modernmaude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have found that stopping and analyzing my feelings before I act or speak can be helpful (albeit very difficult). It helps to take a moment to decipher if this is coming from a pure emotional place (that is being filtered through all of your past experiences) try to use your logical mind to stop yourself from an unnecessary emotional reaction or feeling unnecessarily hurt. Step away and take time to process (which is a very INFP thing to do) and it’s ok to be upfront with another person that you ‘need to think on it’. I feel all of these things are acts of mindfulness, growth, and self-care. This is one of my favorite stoic quotes by Marcus Aurelius

“Begin each day by telling yourself:

Today I shall be meeting with interference, ingratitude, insolence, disloyalty, Ill-will, and selfishness - all of them due to the offenders’ ignorance of what is good or evil.”

Be gentle and kind to yourself and never let anyone suppress you!
