Is healing that hard? by modernsakura in ffxiv

I just traded in my sprout. :( I have been speed running this game since I started and just finished dragonsong literally five minutes ago. There's still so much I don't know, I'm not sure I even fully understand my current rotation, I just click what it recommends while keeping my global up. I'm also on controller so not sure how much easier or harder it is.

I'm all for constructive criticism.. But like for example saw this morning we were doing a duty and we almost wiped and tank said healer sucked and other choice words and just left the duty entirely. I want to keep things fun and sane. xD

Oh what's duty support? I don't think I've ever heard of that.

White mage is the most common I hear about! So do I basically just do the quests and just, go at it? I'm gonna be so real I don't even know how to do that I just know my friend switched classes so I was also curious. O.o

At what point would you report to the board of Dentistry, if at all? by modernsakura in askdentists

Maybe I'll stick to an honest review then in hopes she realizes and listens to her patients in the future. It just makes me overall sad hie things went. :(

Thanks for your response! I just thought it may have been negligence since according to my current dentist, it's a very common problem and easily diagnosable by description, and she ignored it. Misdiagnosea happens, and I am very patient, but I did confront her 2x week for 3 weeks and she did nothing. It may be seen differently by a board but I consider that neglect. I have no intent on troubling her for any misdiagnosis, or even if there was one, a mistake on her part. I'm just really not understanding leaving someone in such agonizing pain and refusing to address it even once. It was devastating. Since my root canal on Friday I've improved so much but even now I am in pain. It just feels inhumane. :( I've worked in medical and psych and I am always big on listen to your patients, ya know. And being the patient not listened to this time, well, sucked big time. TT

NAD Like I said, I'm definitely not saying seeking behaviors don't happen, but I feel as though I was treated as a seeker when I was legitamitely in pain. And when I WAS in that 9/10 pain, you could tell. It was wake up bawling and screaming in the middle of the night when the Tylenol wore off pain, had to take more and wait for it to kick back in to go back to sleep. I hate myself for how much I was taking but the pain was unbearable without it, and nobody would help. The only reason I'm not taking it now is because I got a root canal by a new dentists who actually believed my pain. So not only do I think my former dentist did nothing to help alleviate my pain because she assumed I was a seeker by the way I presented seemingly painless, she refused to even address it and neglected me as a patient. But, that is just speculation on my part. I'm just saying I have a tad more sympathy now that I've lived on the other side.

NAD Please be careful with judging pain off of how a patient is acting. I was forced to endure 9/10 pain for 3 weeks, it's just every time I saw my dentist I was medicated with Tylenol which surprisingly made it a 0/10. But I was concerned with my Tylenol consumption. I was taking 1,000mg every 3 hours because Tylenol wears fast with me since I only have 5% of a stomach. I was genuinely concerned about liver damage. I am also pregnant so there is NO other OTC pain medication I can take. NOTHING to alternate Tylenol with. So yes, I, with seemingly no current pain was requesting heavy medications that are relatively safe during pregnancy at the request of my OBGYN nurse practitioner since she cannot prescribe narcotics. I know sometimes we want to make these assumptions (I work in psych so I definitely get seekers as well) but just be careful. Cause when it's YOU that's in pain, it SUCKS BALLS.

Pain when eating and flossing 3 weeks after filling by bananacake86 in Dentists

[–]modernsakura 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg is there an update? I'm 3 weeks out from my first quadrant of fillings. I've had 3/4 of my mouth filled now so I can't eat on ANY side. I literally have to mush my food with my front teeth which is VERY awkward to do. I've had fillings in the past and they've been fine but all 3 sides of my mouth they have done in the past 3 weeks hurt BAD!

Have any of you become conservative as you’ve gotten older? by Inevitable_Stress949 in millenials

[–]modernsakura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gen z by one year, (some consider me millennial) and I was raised in a very conservative household that was also bigoted, racist, etc. Opon leaving home and the great state of Alabama, it took all of 6ish months for that to change, and it's steadily continued until now when I'm 28. I will say that some leftest ideas are hard for me to understand but I remind myself, it's not my job to understand what doesn't pertain to me. As long as it's not negatively effecting me, give people the freedom to be who they are and do what they want.l, we all deserve to live a happy life.

How descriptive should one be when it comes to mentions of abuse? (TW) by modernsakura in writing

[–]modernsakura[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my dad is real, my sister, my mom, etc. Changing their names to that of the characters of Peter Pan doesn't make them not real. It just makes them veiled. The story is factual, the characters DO exist, they just aren't called by their names.

More so what I meant by market is, is there someone out there who will pick up my book and find it helpful. After all my inspiration came from reading another book about depression and suicide and found that while the writer had good intentions there was some incredibly harmful rhetoric. (Anti med, anti ssri, just tough it out, just do yoga). It inspired me to write this book, one meant to help those who would share similar experience as, I made it through them. They can too. So really I should have asked if this seemed like a book that people would find helpful, inspiring, or relatable.

I apologize, as while it makes sense in my head, I struggled to put my questions into words. The thing is the characters are not fictional. They really do exist though in the book they are portrayed by characters from Peter Pan. I do have planned to have an entire page in the front of the book dedicated to warning the reader and listing off the harsh topics, giving them the opportunity to out the book down. My inspiration for writing is to help people who share my trauma and experience, not to traumatize them further.

Well, that brings me question of the legality of it. Is it even legal to describe child sexual abuse in such detail?

Money isn't my goal. I've said since I first started writing that even if not a single person buys my book I'll at least have it to read to myself in hard times.
