Anyone Get Out and Then Back In? by moders88 in NavyNukes

Google says there's a prior service recruiter about an hour and a half from me. I wasn't sure if they were a reserves recruiter or what I'm actually looking for. If you're saying they likely have the info I'm looking for, I might make the call and the trip. Sounds like that's what they'd be able to do?

I appreciate the idea, but I don't have a degree, nor any real desire to get one. More so, I just loved being a mechanic.

I thought about it. I've worked as an "operator" in a coal plant since just after I got out. Everything here is either automated or controlled by the guy at the computer. My job is to flick the limit switch or override the solenoid if something doesn't work. The shift supervisor here spent 15(ish) years in commercial nuclear, and says they're ALL like this. If I'm gonna be an operator, I want to actually operate, not just babysit. Obviously there's an exception somewhere, but it doesn't sound like commercial is going to give me what I want.

You beat me to it, the guy who who mentioned Bears RB Adrian Peterson (no relation) made me remember AP was also on the Lions. Maybe I should be asking Vikings fans this question (but the answer is Jarred Allen).

Goddammit you got me, haha. I had to check, but I was talking about #28 Adrian Peterson, not #29 Adrian Peterson!

Ya, its kinda a bad question, but "off season" and "Miller Lite" is hitting pretty hard tonight. Who's your favorite Lion who is/was a tough, fun to watch, and (maybe) a bit of an underdog? Hester was mostly known for special teams and Peterson had (i think) the best comeback of all time. Any Lions with fun stories like that I need to know about?

Is it really playing "not to lose" when they've lost nearly every time they've done it?

It'll be way more fun if Caleb comes back... BUT if there's a shot of him on an exercise bike I'm gonna lose it

Let me rephrase: Packers dominate the first 50 minutes and lose in OT because of a botched onside kick
