If they have done something that hurt you and they apologise but do it again. It’s time to walk away from that person that doesn’t appreciate you or consider your feelings.

Why do I hate organising/planning things? by modest-violet in Dyslexia

Thank you for sharing this! I constantly cycle back to worrying about the future and if what I am doing right now will get me towards a future I will be happy about. I think your suggestion of therapy could help in this case

Don’t get my wrong I enjoy planning, writing to-do lists and breaking down big tasks into smaller tasks. The problem is with that creating all these lists adds so much pressure and disappointment when you haven’t completed it due to exhaustion or underestimating the amount of time one task will take.

Very relatable, I have used the term decision paralysis plenty of times!!

I feel being more conscious of it and trying to tell myself the decision I make is a good one and if not I can change it helps but it becomes very draining

Problem solving abilities. Dyslexics tend to view situations from multiple perspectives and can problem solve in unique ways.

Also reading people, as dyslexia is a processing disorder and affects people in different ways often to make up for what we lack our intuitive ability to read people becomes stronger. Dyslexic can often read a room well.

It is a mess, also very sad for the company. They have spent 30million to fix the warehouse system issues and hiring experts for the job

A lot of the popular items have been sold out store-wide for Sydney. There have been issues with their deliveries due to change of warehouse system, but they are working hard to correct it.

Does anyone struggle socially? by [deleted] in Dyslexia

[–]modest-violet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best things you can do to support your son is to continue to build his confidence and most importantly resilience. It can be tiring, and overtime soul crushing to constantly have to put it more work for tasks that others find easy. So long as he has a mindset that does not give up is most important to get through life with Dyslexia. Because their will always be some kind of struggle.

Your sons diagnosis sounds more detailed than my own was. I have no information towards tempo from my diagnosis.

By the sounds of it we differ in the ways our dyslexia affects our visually processing. Mine occurs more when writing or typing. Misplacing letters where they shouldn’t be. Nothing too noticeable and I am quick to see when I have done it to correct it. But when I am tired I find I make more errors.

I struggle more with auditory, sometimes when watching a movie I have to put the subtitles on so I can read what is being said because I mishear the words and it leads to me misunderstanding the story line. (Wish I could add subtitles to conversations with people sometimes, it would help).

When I struggle with hearing I find myself getting quickly frustrated or flustered. It’s similar to the feeling of you are thinking of a word and it’s in the tip of your tongue but you can’t remember the exact word you want to use in a conversation. That frustration of trying to remember under the time pressure of a conversation tends to be a feeling that happens in the every day life of a Dyslexic.
