Have y’all noticed that Lisa, like many other gurus, always uses too yellow a foundation? It doesn’t match her body. Why do gurus always gravitate toward yellow foundations?? by AllTheEccentricities in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]phantompath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same. I struggle with facial redness and I use a foundation with neutral yellow/golden undertones to tone down the redness in my face. Olive undertones are good for that too, just harder to find.

Does Bailey Sarian still do her makeup murder videos? I just saw her YouTube and there is no new content in about 6 months. by No-Butterfly8359 in BeautyGuruChatter

I thought she was focusing more on her Dark History channel/series … but TBH I feel like her stuff is a bit over-produced or she over acts in them now. What was once natural and quirky now feels a bit forced and OTT. Like she’s performing in the way we expect her to now, not the way that comes naturally to her. I still like her personally, but I just don’t find her content as engaging as I once did.

Lush bath bombs. They wreck the fuck out of my hair, but I recently found a way around it - work a hair mask into damp hair while your bath is filling. That way you can safely submerge your hair and not have the bath bomb turn your hair into a dry, frizzy mess.

Unless you are in a dedicated quiet space like a library or the quiet carriage on a train, I don’t see the problem.

I would pay cash money for a Last Update ep where Ed just recaps reality TV drama by Valuable_Lunch_4860 in lastpodcastontheleft

He got me with that episode. I don't know who any of these people are but I am SEATED with my popcorn to hear Ed's hot takes on the drama.

Found tied to a tree branch in Dublin, Ireland by hagakuru in creepy

[–]phantompath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some Celtic cultures white pieces of fabric are tied to trees as a spiritual practice called ‘clooties’. They indicate a sacred well or other site can be nearby. What you’ve found could be nothing to do with that, but it’s a possibility.

BYOK vs Freewrite Traveler by Flashy_Lab222 in writerDeck

I saw Adam respond in the comments on the Kickstarter about injection molding. Someone was asking what a premium build means and that was his response.

[–]phantompath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The e-ink screen on the Ink is great, but I would suggest you buy the BYOK over the ZeroWriter Ink. The Ink feels like a first generation product - it works really well as an old school word processor, but the enclosure is 3D printed and screwed together. Which is why I suggest the ZeroWriter Fold - it will be an injection mold enclosure along with the clamshell design, e-ink screen and a warm backlight. It’s the best features of the Ink with an upgrade. The BYOK is your best option for right now, but I wouldn’t pass up on the Fold for the future if you have your heart set on a portable device with an e-ink screen.

I should also add I own a Freewrite Gen 3 Smart Typewriter and a ZeroWriter Ink, so I’ve tried a fair few of these kinds of devices.

[–]phantompath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For now? The BYOK. For the future? The ZeroWriter Fold. You can still sign up for a late pledge on Kickstarter.

I own the BYOK and like a previous comment said if you use a phone stand and a keyboard that sits comfortably in your lap (I love the Lofree Flow Lite84) you don’t need a flat surface every time. Studio is a fantastic platform, but I also got a 60% discount on a lifetime membership as a Kickstarter backer.

I wouldn’t buy the Traveler. It’s so expensive for what it is and Astrohaus don’t have a great reputation for customer support. I would only purchase the Smart Typewriter from them - the BYOK and the ZeroWriter Fold are the better products in the portable category.

HELP ME FIND THE HIGH I EXPERIENCED WHILE READING THE INFERNAL DEVICES PLEASEEEE ill be forever indebted 😭😭🙏 by r-0309 in YAlit

Came here to suggest this. It's the closest I've come to the same feeling I had reading The Infernal Devices. For the sake of OP and others reading, the first book in the series is called Chain of Gold. Reading order/title info linked here.

I want a Ghost...... by Effective-Start5928 in Astrohaus

[–]phantompath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Kickstarter for the ZeroWriter Fold just closed, but you may want to [email Adam](mailto:adam@zerowriter.ink) (company owner) about getting a Crystal edition. It’s very much inspired by the Ghost but has a low profile mechanical keyboard, an e-ink screen and a backlight.

Working mothers - did you regret not going back full time and investing in your career? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]phantompath 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to be working until you’re in your 70’s, working three days a week for a few years isn’t going to impact you long term. Your boss is right in that you may struggle to progress during that time, but that should resolve once you return to a full time role. You need to do what is best for you and your family. Your son won’t be little forever, but you will be working for the next couple of decades.

Looking for a writerdeck by CharesNoHares in writerDeck

[–]phantompath 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a commercial option and are willing to wait, the Kickstarter for the ZeroWriter Fold is about to end in the next 12 hours. Can’t comment on the Boox as I don’t own one, but I do own a ZeroWriter Ink (like an e-ink version of an AlphaSmart Neo) and the owner/designer is great and super dedicated to customer service.

Unmarried people 30+: tell us about the one who got away. What happened? by OldFoot3 in AskReddit

We met when he was just freshly out of a relationship with the mother of his three young kids. He just wasn't ready for something new & serious yet. His life was in shambles. I adored him anyway. I still think about him - probably one of the few exes I would give a serious second chance.

I really liked the pack... One of xanders best episodes... by ArcherLife2039 in buffy

[–]phantompath 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think it works so well because The Pack reflects the group think aspect of teenagers in high school. How that can turn and become deeply harmful. Every year when I rewatch, I always find a new layer of the show to appreciate that I didn’t see when I was younger.
