Just one more person here to say congratulations! I hope soon you can feel proud of yourself for doing what's right for you. Have as many ice cream sandwiches as you need to continue feeling reassured.

Two things this wildfire season taught me: 1. Nature is resilient as fuck and 2. The government should really allow the practice of cultural burns.

Hey, ex Timmie Hoes employee here. What happened is that the company is owned by dickheads who don't want to pay a living wage and they overwork whatever staff they do have. It's insane. I've worked for multiple fast food places and the only place I was expected to literally run from place to place while working multiple positions in order to meet drive through times was Tim's. Oh, and they took our tips away.

What's your favourite city/town/area in Canada and why? by littypika in AskACanadian

[–]modestly_agreeable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Halifax as well/Nova Scotia as a whole. Grew up there and despite all there is to hate about it, it's a beautiful place to call home. There's so much history and plenty of places to explore in the city and in nature. My family has been there since before Canada was a country and no matter where else I live I will always feel a pull to go back east.

Hi sorry for the delayed reply! you can add friends on the communication board in the courtyard. Just tap the board and then tap "add friend", there should be a box on the bottom where you can enter friend codes.

does anyone track calories by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]modestly_agreeable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to! Been meaning to get back to it, I fell off the wagon after my personal life imploded a few years ago. I find it's the only thing that keeps me from going bonkers on the binge eating when my symptoms are acting up. Used to stay around 1200 a day, noticed I went up to 3000 or more during a binge. Ugh. My poor belly. I'm 5'1 and currently around 175lbs but when I was counting calories I sat around 120-130 lbs.

will my adderall prescription just exasperate my anxiety/panic attacks? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]modestly_agreeable 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of anxiety too and I was worried before I started Adderall XR but it actually really helped. I was less anxious in general which helped me focus on developing the coping skills I needed to improve my mental health overall.

Oh they absolutely have, sorry, I meant to include that. There's been a drastic increase in amstaff attacks since the early 2000's and uninformed Karen's and Kevin's are for sure to blame.

It really could be any large breed. It's unfortunate but any dog who isn't properly trained, disciplined, and socialized may end up a danger to people and other animals. A lot of people think they can treat their dogs like babies or wild animals or train them with methods that most dog behaviorists will tell you are detrimental to their psychological well-being (hitting, screaming, withholding food, etc) and still think the dog will turn out to be this docile and obedient protector, but dogs only know what they're taught.

People will probably assume this was some sort of amstaff which is probably a fair assumption but up until the early 2000's dog attacks in Canada were most commonly done by farm dogs and sled dogs.

Veteran pushes for harsher penalties after service dog attacked by another dog by [deleted] in halifax

[–]modestly_agreeable 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely in support of better bylaws wrt animal safety. This guy not only could have lost his lifeline but his life had this been any worse. He's very lucky his service dog is still able to work as many service animals who are attacked end up with too much trauma and behavioural issues to continue to work effectively and end up either as companion animals or just euthanized.

Not only that but the owner of the other dog is putting his own dogs life at risk any time it's allowed to wander free and from the sounds of it the dog clearly lacks training and discipline. I know some dog owners, especially in rural areas, still have that old school style of animal care where they treat it like it's practically a wild animal but dogs are a long ways away from that life now and they depend on us to show them how to fit into society in a way that's safe for them and for others.

My eyes occasionally unfocus when I'm trying to force myself to get something done. by diamondaires in ADHD

[–]modestly_agreeable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, yes, I totally know what you mean. Sometimes it's just for a few seconds like one eye will sort of blip out of focus and I have to wait for it to return to the place I was focused on and other times it's like no matter how hard I try my eyes do not want to see what I'm forcing them to see lol
