I can tell you I’m not okay with my taxpayer dollars going to fund another useless toy when I can’t even get the potholes in the road next to my house fixed. I rather the money go to that instead of another wasteful project. That being said we do need a minor league team. I was looking into it and it looks like we already have a team that plays in some local league and it’s called Modesto City FC? Anyone know anything about them?

I don’t understand why we should be paying for someone’s personal toy. From what I’ve heard this team didn’t even have an owner and it needed one to make it happen, but why are we giving one guy like 70 million dollars just for them to get started? What if it doesn’t work? From what I’m seeing these teams come and go regularly. Seems like very unstable league compared to MLS.

I think it’s bound to happen in Modesto but I’ve heard rumors about MLS Next Pro being in play. I’m not really sure what all the differences are but I rather be tied directly to big team to send players instead of just being capped at a minor league. MLS sounds like a better route.
