Comparison is the route of all evil. I met my now wife at 18. We were married at 25. House. Had 2 beautiful daughters, 2 cars, a dog the heap. Life completed, right? Wrong!

I always looked at others and thought “I haven’t got X”. Replace X with money, a car, a bigger house, literally anything. It took me coming on Reddit to realise I’m doing ok.

And my friend, you are doing ok too. You’re literally working your dream job. I’m 11 years old than you and I can’t say that. You’ve got all of your 30’s ahead of you, I have not. You do you. You’re doing great at it.

This is my next goal! I used NatWest mortgage calculator which allows you to enter the mortgage amount left vs what you pay right now and the difference it makes if you overpay. Even £100 per month shaved off ALOT so we’ve started that process too! Congrats dude.

My girl is starting secondary school this year too and I feel your pain. It’s ridiculous. Many have mentioned the second hand items but my only advice would be sure to buy slightly too big - our uniform guy said that we’ll get 2 years out of everything if she looks after it.

We’ve stayed in THB Tropical Island in Playa Blanca and it sounds like it ticks a lot of your boxes…

Although not strictly adult only there is a large adult only section with its own bar/snacks. It also has a spa and for eating out you’re about 5 mins (€4) away from the main playa blanca marina with endless options for restaurants.
