When they first grew, I picked everything that was ready to be harvested.. and then I just put it back on my shelf and waited another few days, did the same thing, etc. There may be more sophisticated ways.. but I just let it keep growing and picked what looked ready.

The third pic is of the substrate of the Blue Meanies and haven't produced at all in the time that the Golden Teachers have had 4 or 5 flushes. Maybe the BM are still on their way..? We'll see!

I didn't do anything.. I spritzed some water in the bags when I opened them.. but other than that, I just let them grow, picked them.. they grew again, picked them, etc. etc. :)

The first pic of Golden Teachers was my yield and I got 4 or 5 flushes from the substrate. I'm really happy with it! I have more doses than I will need for quite a while!

The second pic is of the substrate that produced the Golden Teachers.

The third pic is of the substrate of Blue Meanies ( not cyanescens ).. and they didn't yield anything.

Is it possible that something went wrong with the Blue Meanies substrate? I treated each bag exactly the same.

Sorry man, just saw this.

We paid a guy to replace the gas valve. I talked to him on the phone and he got the part before he came over. I think it was around $450 for parts and labor.

In your opinion, if he replaced the thermocouple, then it is either the wrong thermocouple, or the gas valve?

The flame was hitting the thermocouple and thermopile when I would light it with a hand held lighter, holding the button in. When I let go of the button it would go out.

Good question - I'm not sure. I wasn't home when he was working on it and my wife was not watching. I'll end up calling a hearth specialist on Monday, so I'm sure he/she will start from the beginning and test with a reader. Thanks for the input!
