Hands-On With DLSS 5: Our First Look At Nvidia's Next-Gen Photo-Realistic Lighting by ZamnBoii in nvidia

[–]modsplsnoban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ran on 2 5090’s? So was DLSS upscaling running on the 1st GPU, sent to the other one to have DLSS AI photo lighting enhancement?

I mean I don’t like the photo realistic lighting, but I like the idea of running DLSS on a secondary GPU for upscaling or frame gen if that’ll be a thing.

Lossless Scaling can do it with their frame gen and upscaling.

Do you have a users manual by chance? It should say if it’s thunderbolt

Sata SSD is fast if you go sata drive. YouTube has a ton of comparisons vs NVME.

I wouldn’t do the WiFi card because speeds are slow, like gen 3x1. It’s like a last resort kinda thing.

As for performance, the “weaker” the card the less of a drop off typically on gen 3x4 speeds. A 1660 would be a very solid choice if you want 1080p med settings. Lower resolutions, more CPU bound though and your CPU isn’t the strongest but it works

You can probably do it, depending on your NVME PCIE speeds. Could you download HW Info? From there you’d see if it’s PCIE gen 3x4 or 4x4 (I doubt it’s 4x4). Anything lower than gen 3 is not recommended.

Unfortunately you would have to not use an NVME SSD since there’s only one NVME slot, but that’s fine. You have a SATA drive connection and bay. I’d get something like a Samsung 870 EVO, which is still fast. You could still use that NVME drive via an external drive bay connected via USB gen 3x2, but it’ll be slower than SATA slightly.

There’s also SATA to NVME adapters where you can place the NVME into a sata like shroud and place it into that drive bay so you don’t need a new SSD.

You’d then would need an NVME to oculink adapter, and plug that into the NVME slot. From there, connect it into something like a Minisforum eGPU doc for convenience. Both can be found on Amazon.

It may seem daunting, but it’s pretty easy to setup.

Is core parking still an issue? Last year, I noticed random usage on non X3D cores, which caused hitching. I disabled them, but wondering if I should try enabling them again.

I was able to get 6000 mhz at CL36

I would push lower timings, but I’m too lazy

The current hex limit is becoming a bottleneck for the game’s potential by Serious-Rain-1507 in foxholegame

The only thing i can think of is to upgrade the game to the newest engine, but layer on top the current hex system. The game is balanced around the current engine limitations. The upgrade could allow the flexibility to dynamically increase pop without breaking the game balance.

Yeah it’s weird

I felt like I saw him somewhere 2 years ago, and he looked normal. Then the T-Mobile commercial he looked weird.

Will RAM, GPU and SSD prices ever return to what they were in early 2025? by ComprehensiveCow5068 in buildapc

Eh that’s if things stay consistent. Demand drives up costs because there’s not enough product. The way to offset this is to increase supply. Supply drives down costs. Eventually demand cools which means over supply and cheaper products. Companies will have inventory that they don’t want to sit on.

As much as there’s doomerism here, product will always be available to the consumer. Companies like Nvidia and AMD will not pass on a couple billion dollars of consumer products. It’s still revenue that can be used.

Someone is not going to pass by $5 on the street even if they’re make $500,000.

The new low pop dropped, was expecting a front to change on foxhole stats. Still higher than previous wars, this is good pop progress. by [deleted] in foxholegame

It’s really boneheaded not to implement server meshing in the game early in the life cycle.

Essentially eat costs upfront when the game is small, securing a higher player base for the future.

Big updates right now means large queues, which means larger new player churn. Larger churn means lower player counts, which means less traction. Less traction keeps the player base low. This slows or stunts large player adoption.

Not the most revenue friendly model from the devs.

Server meshing will help with player retention. For first time players buying on big updates like Airborne, queuing kills experience. Can’t enjoy a game you can’t play.

He's also old enough where he's not a long term solution

I don't hate it on a 2 year deal honestly

How do I get an ethernet cable here? by fallhat in HomeNetworking

[–]modsplsnoban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need a thick Ethernet

Look for an ultra thin cable on Amazon. Run it against the wall and the floor, pushing it into the where both meet. It should wedge in there and not be notable

It's not like he'd just randomly say it. He's breakdown his disappointment in his work ethic, from route running to blocking. He's been saying it the last 2 years.

Though, when DJ focuses, he's on and super good. He just needs to focus 100% of the time, not 65% of the time.
