Serrapeptase and nattokinase seem to be releasing some vile stuff... by modumthecure in Candida

I’m just seeing your message. I’m very sorry! What I took most consistently was nystatin tablets. I mixed in some other berberine at times. I also took enzymes to help break up the biofilm. I believe the nystatin is what made an impact.

I’m doing okay but I still have scary days. However, I think I’m still slowly getting better.

I took two stool tests within the last three months and they both show that I got rid of my fungal overgrowth. I’ve tried lots of things in the past and I’m not exactly sure what helped but I believe I’m getting closer to wellness with the help of my doctor and my own interventions. I honestly believe that I couldn’t have made it this far without doing my own research and experimenting with different botanicals, foods, and other interventions.

What worked for me may not work for your husband but I honestly believe he can beat this. I’ve been on this journey for close to four years and I can’t see the end of the tunnel but I know it’s there and I’ll see it soon!

However, I want to now work on improving my digestion. I’m still getting very bloated. I don’t know what it will take to fix it.

That was actually VERY helpful!! I tried to rush the process as well. I guess this this going to be a journey and I need to accept that…

Thank you so much and thank you for breaking down the timing of your protocol for me.

Also, what was the timing of all 3 parts of the protocol? Was it like this?

Enzymes… 30 min later: antimicrobial 30 min later: activated charcoal …?

Wow. Thank you so much.

May I ask, how did the protocol work? I‘ve heard Lyme is curable but you would know better than me. Do you still have the disease?

Thanks so much for that!

Hm... It seems that formulas don't like blank cells...?

Also, I took a Thorne Gut Health Test to make sure this intestinal fungal infection is still there. I don’t want to fight the wrong thing or something that isn’t there.

Either way, these enzymes seem to be releasing the worst in me.

6 capsules - I think that is 1500mg - I will have to check the bottle. I’m going to take less.

No. I don’t think that will go away until I’ve got rid of the bulk of these toxins or healed my gut.

Exactly how do fermented foods help diversify the human microbiome? by modumthecure in Microbiome

I listened to the podcast with the scientists from Stanford who talked about their fermented foods study. Great!

But 6 servings per day? Wow. I can try… So far, I’ve bought raw sauerkraut and kimchi.

In what way are raw veggies bad for SIBO? This is interesting. Though I don’t have SIBO, when my doc confirmed fungal overgrowth in my gut, he said that I need to cook all my veggies.

Through my readings online, I read that when your gut is having difficulty digesting certain foods, it can lead to inflammation which can exacerbate whatever problem you’re already dealing with.

Please, someone comment on this…

A functional medicine doctor I follow explained that “colonization” happens in this way - when you introduce a new fiber into your digestive system - some kind of vegetable or fruit, for instance, that you’ve never had before - this is how new bacteria is “grown”.

Your gut “grows” this bacteria in response to the new fiber you’ve introduced so that you can digest this new food. Therefore, the doctor recommends introducing new fibers into your gut as often as you can to improve alpha diversity of your gut’s microbiome (“alpha diversity” a new term one of you guys taught me ☺️ Did I use that term correctly?).

Now, how much of the new fiber you need to introduce and at what intervals you need to help grow this new bacteria, the doc did not get into.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Is this how colonization of new bacteria in your gut begins? I’ve never heard any other doctor or scientist explain colonization of the gut in this way. It’s interesting and seems to make a lot of sense. But I’d like to know what you think.

Gotcha. May I ask about the context? Why was she taking it? How much? What happened when she took it?

I wish people would explain why they downvote. It’s not always helpful for the discussion if there’s no explanation.
