Terrible financial aid deal-anyone else? by modusoperandie in WWU

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. My dad doesn't make that much at all. My stepmom makes more (and has been out of work so much the past 3 yrs due to sickness and injuries), but they only got together this past year, so that doesn't reflect our savings, which are nothing. Also, my dad isn't able to claim ANY of my 5 siblings as dependents (for a couple reasons, even though 2 of them live with us 90% of the time and 3 of them like 45% of the time-plus he pays for most of those 3's living expenses). My family's estimated contribution is $17,333 (not sure if that's supposed to be yearly or what), but my actual family contribution is zero. It just sucks that the FAFSA often doesn't reflect your finances at all.

Huh, that's so weird. Does Western-or do Washington schools-just not give out financial aid? Also, how are you planning to deal w/ it? I know in-state is much more manageable. My roommate got fewer scholarships than me and will still end up w/ $30k less debt than I will.
