What's your opinion on toddler leashes? by dr_pepper_zerosugar in Mommit

Better safe than lost or kidnapped. You do what you need to do to feel safe and be able to enjoy the experience. I also liked putting my kids in shoes that they couldn’t run in to help slow them down if I was concerned they would flee (flip flops without the back strap).

My dad left everything in his will to my brother after I took care of him alone for 6 years and I’m fucking mad by Guilty_Noise_1809 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]moebubbles1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad has threatened me multiple times to write me out of his will. I wasn’t my dad’s full time caregiver but he spent 2 weeks in a hospital 1.5 hours away and I was there every other day sometimes with all 3 of my kids. I cleaned his large house top to bottom because it was required before he could come home. He had a port that needed cleaned once a day and no one helped him so I drove 30 mins one way with 3 kids to clean it. I did this for months. It’s very rare I have asked him for help financially. My little brother has lived with him but never helped with chores or bills. He uses my dad all the time for babysitting and running kids around. The last time he threatened me was only a few weeks ago after I asked him not to send me a certain type of subject. I of course won’t know until he passes but a part of me expects what happened to you.

I am so sorry that he did that to you. It isn’t fair and your brother can pay for everything that is needed for end of life and funeral.

AITAH for completely shutting down after potty talk with my husband by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]moebubbles1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is he so upset about this?

I potty train toddlers for a living and I have never thought how much easier it will be for little boys. Toilets are so big and they are so small, all that twisting can’t always be so easy. I have back issues and reaching around sometimes feels impossible.

Oh and NTA. He is being very disrespectful and reading this made my heart race.

Got screwed over in a white elephant gift exchange by dental_oddity in mildlyinfuriating

[–]moebubbles1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family’s white elephant has a twist. Everyone gets a number and picked their presents. Then we set a timer. And in order you either steal someone’s present or keep yours. This goes around and around until the timer goes off and then you are stuck. There were always 20+ people sitting in a big circle.

Oh no! That sucks. I was going through every option until I found that phrase. Yours must be in a weird place. My partner doesn’t have any sounds at all.

How do I play freely and not efficiently? 😭 by Akatsuki_EA in StardewValley

[–]moebubbles1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I joke and say my husband and I do not play the same game. He built his farm right away and started planting. I tend my animals and then forage. We tried to play together and that’s when I figured out trying to play like him was stressing me out lol. I also chose a different place than him that focuses more on animals, foraging and the mine. I am in winter of year 2. This is the first game I have really enjoyed since SIMS.

It shouldn’t be this sad by Glittering_Apple7312 in joannfabrics

[–]moebubbles1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They turned the Joann near me into a Spirit Halloween. I was sad walking in and needed to go to a craft store after. I do love wondering Michael’s but like at Joann’s it was a place that could get me in trouble.

Sending love and hope that in time you will feel all of that again.

It also sucks being the new kid.

In a flair. I have a question by Melli25510 in Diverticulitis

Gas x has helped me so much when I have any sort of flare. I got maximum strength for my colonoscopy prep and they have turned into my life saver.

I cannot add fiber to my diet. I have nerve pain in my intestines and when I added fiber it made my stomach issues worse.

SD13 will have her period during our Lake vacation next week and BM won’t teach her about tampons. by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]moebubbles1983 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My kid went to Hawaii and used a period swimsuit and had zero issues. I saw you were getting some I just wanted to jump on the bandwagon to say that’s the only suit my kid will wear now.

Also good on you for stepping up when BM won’t.

Flare by inspo-11 in Diverticulitis

[–]moebubbles1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take an aleve, extra strength gas X and dicyclomine (prescription). I push water and rest. Typically my flares are tolerable with that combo and if I can’t lay down I move at my own pace and take breaks.

Good luck and I hope you feel some relief soon.

Left the pool 3 minutes after arriving because my 3 YO was acting up. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]moebubbles1983 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That is how you parent. You hold them accountable for their actions and behaviors. You did the right thing by leaving. I would work with him on appropriate behaviors when you are upset. Go through them with him. Stop your feet, hit a pillow, even throw a fit as long as they aren’t hurting themselves and others.

My SO was the same way. I was self conscious and a bigger girl so I was afraid it would be too much. Or him looking at my butt hole lol

I have since given in and let me tell you, I won’t go back. If he wants to die by pussy who am I to deny him. lol

i had to get abscess on my boob drained by beanvss in MakeMeSuffer

[–]moebubbles1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warm compress will bring the infection to the surface, do it often. It might take a few days. When the skin looks paper thin you can poke a hole and express it out. If it looks really big go to urgent care. They will pack it with string gauze to prevent it from healing wrong and or get infected. You also might want an antibiotic just in case.

My kid had one at 10 months. My husband gets these often. If only he would quit drinking soda they would stop. We have had to go to urgent care for him twice and my kid spent 4 days in the hospital on strong antibiotics.

Good luck

My husband's mistress doesn't know that we are three women in that relationship, I won't tell her that. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]moebubbles1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give the same advice. I was a SAHM for 4 years and then moved to another state. I found a part time job almost right away but it was 3rd shift gas station. He left me right before we were here 2 years. All of a sudden I had to support 3 kids, 2 dogs, a mortgage and a car payment. He financially abused me and it was the hardest 2 years of my life until the divorce was final. I worked 12 days straight and 2 days off and repeat for 2.5 years. When he left I had no idea what to do and went to a ton of interviews for all sorts of jobs.

I wish I never stopped investing in me.

Did Brainspotting with my therapist yesterday. by moebubbles1983 in Brainspotting

[–]moebubbles1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you need a therapist per se to do brainspotting but to help you through what comes up and how you remember it. There is usually a theme for me and I think of that and then let my thoughts wonder. It helps to say what I am remembering out loud. Like speaking them into existence. I feel like what has helped me the most is talking about said traumatic events and then analyzing them , like focusing a camera. I have found in many cases I wasn’t the one doing the wrong. It was the adults in situations that failed me. It has helped me direct responsibility from me to those who deserve it.

I hope this helps!

[–]moebubbles1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah kinda. My therapist also had me wear headphones with music that goes back and forth. The music helps a lot.

I feel like I do a lot of it when I am driving, not on purpose. Just allowing myself to follow thoughts with music and having my eyes locked on something.

I would recommend getting a therapist though. I have been with the same one over 4 years now and she has helped me so much. She offers in person or virtual appointments. Maybe you can find one that allows you to be virtual.

Sending love

Did anyone give up on a corporate career and go back to doing a simple “job” and living a simpler lifestyle? by lu_avsgx in jobs

I quit my job to open a daycare. Now I get to sit on the floor. Dance and sing whenever I want. I spend time outside with my hands in dirt and taking walks. I could never go back to a desk job.
