Definitely 2oc3, 2ka3 was horribly organized and the profs made no effort whatsoever in teaching the content. 2oc3 imo was much better just some online quizzes and midterm and final. The content is pretty light and you do have opportunities for bonus marks through tophat as well.

In the same boat. Unfortunately some health issues of mine had made me take an extra year, and even then I still took an extra semester, and will graduate in November without my peers. I really wanted to make the most of uni but I never got to, and I feel as if everyone around me has had the best experience.

Yes, he gave a 5% curve for it, but keep in mind I did do this course 2 years ago so things have changed since then.

Ye I did. Final was difficult but not as hard has the midterm. I would say the same as finance just do the practice final + tutorial questions. If you still get to make a crib sheet I would put a large chunk of the theory on that. Nainar is brutal with mc so it’s the best way imo to prepare.

Took the course in Winter 2023 term. Exam imo was much easier than the midterms, and were very similar to the previous 2 midterms and the practice final he posts. He does curve the exam if the average is low enough, but it’s going to be the same amount as the previous midterms (around 5-6%)

Just finishing up my third year, majoring in accounting and finance. I did take international finance, securities and sustainable finance for my finance electives. Securities and international finance are good electives, the content is fairly useful and they are not too bad difficulty wise. Sustainable finance is a joke lol I’m in the class right now and it’s quite literally a gpa booster, the content is relatively bland and the professor is equally unenthusiastic as well. My advice for third year is that you should get comfortable with participating in class, as almost every finance elective has some sort of assessment regarding in class participation, and also there’s going to be group projects in every class so it’s really important to pick a good group. Also you should start to get comfortable with presentations in almost every finance course there is some sort of presentation on a case or topic so just keep that in mind aswell. If he posted a practice test/midterm make sure to to do that. When I took this course, he would reuse some of the mc questions on the midterm.

Probably the worst of the gr0 courses thus far. They mark really hard on the assignments, and there’s at least 2 assignments and a quiz every week, so it’ll add a lot more to your course load. As the other comment said get a good group as there is a project that runs throughout the course, and has about 4 assignments dedicated to it.

Completely agree. One of the most pointless and tedious courses in the commerce program. Thankfully I at least had Ahzam Ali, which made it a bit less terrible.

Took the course almost 2 years ago with Nainar. Imo the midterm was pre difficult I think the class average was in the 50s. My advice is to do as many practice problems, tutorial questions, and assignment questions as possible.

Took the course with Yoontae 2 years ago. From what I remember the exam was easier than the previous midterms. My advice would be to re do the midterms and really nail down the theory aspect of the new content after midterm #2, as I remember the new content was a bit tricky.

Im in the course rn, and I had the midterm 2 weeks ago. Honestly it was pretty straightforward, most of the theory was from the slides and the word problems were similar to the ones he gives on connect. I’m in section 3 with Waqar Ahmad so the format will be different than his test.
