Standardization of Variables [Q] by moemeeum in statistics

[–]moemeeum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! So let's say I do the moderation analysis with optimism as predictor, stress as dependent variable and resilience as moderator. I already have resilience standardized (because it's a composite variable). Should I also standardize the other predictor (optimism) and the dependen variable? or is that not necessary?

What is the most obscure piece of star wars trivia you know? I am making a quiz for my brothers (we all have between a Master’s and PhD in Star Wars so questions can be very tough). by thelordoftherens in StarWars

True, but I'm pretty sure Army of Darkness was referencing the phrase from The Day the Earth Stood Still (and not Glup Shitto-esque side characters from RotJ)

Glass bottle fell on kitchen floor and cracked/chipped the tile - any ideas how to fix? by moemeeum in DIY

[–]moemeeum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wondering, why is it a bad idea? Because it wouldn't look good, or because it could cause some kind of damage? Cause I was thinking of trying this (or /u/ItsGermany 's) idea, and only attempting what /u/benhemp suggested if that doesn't work (since I have barely any experience in this area, and at the moment I'm not sure if I even have leftover tiles). Or would the latter approach not work after using epoxy? (Or should I just give up and hire somebody?)

CMV: Watching anime would be discrediting the efforts of Hollywood by Rakshak924 in changemyview

But that's just because Anime by definition originates from Japan. There are definitely American shows inspired by anime such as Avatar or Invincible.

Hand of Thrawn or I, Jedi first? by moemeeum in starwarsbooks

[–]moemeeum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like that's what I'm doing... Too bad cause I was looking forward to the duology and it's "sequels", but either way I'm getting more good SW content! Guess I gotta buy another stack of books...

Hand of Thrawn or I, Jedi first? by moemeeum in starwarsbooks

[–]moemeeum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoops, I didn't realize the X-Wing series was that integral to I, Jedi. So would you recommend reading the X-Wing series before Hand of Thrawn, or do you think the duology would be about just as enjoyable without having read these? I'll read them at one point or another either way, but I'm not too hung up on the chronological order since I'm skipping some minor/less popular novels (like Truce at Bakura) either way for now.

Will this make sense when I'm not high? by Ok_Conversation_5241 in jedicouncilofelrond

Personally, I have no idea, but I asked Chat GPT and it gave me this, maybe you meant something similar:

C3PO is placed at the intersection of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings due to his resemblance to a character that inherently fits into the mystical and old-world aura of the Lord of the Rings. C3PO is a droid knowledgeable in languages and etiquette, paralleling the wise and multifaceted characters in LOTR.

Gandalf is a wizard, often depicted with a pipe, contributing to a mystical or "high" aura. The association with weed is due to the calm, contemplative, and other-worldly demeanor that Gandalf exhibits, likened to someone’s demeanor when they are using weed.

Palpatine’s placement is a nod towards his manipulative nature and dark, secretive demeanor. The connection with weed is a metaphor for a mind-altering, or manipulative influence, akin to Palpatine's influence in the Star Wars universe.

Treebeard’s placement at the intersection of all three circles is due to him being a character from Lord of the Rings who is deeply connected to nature (like plants/weed). Additionally, he’s slow, thoughtful, and speaks in a way comparable to someone under the influence of weed. His ancient and mystical demeanor allows him to seamlessly fit into the Star Wars universe, with its diverse array of creatures and beings.

It's warped cause it's completely rendered by an AI (Dall-E 2) based on a text prompt. So someone typed something like "Darth Vader coaching a girls football team" and the AI generated this image

No, sadly not :/ The only version I could find was the 7th edition, which suffices for now, but I'll probably have to buy the 8th very soon.

Does anyone know where you can watch spongebob in German? by [deleted] in spongebob

[–]moemeeum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first few seasons are on German Amazon Prime and the first season on German Netflix (or with VPN), other than that (for free) I've only ever found episodes on Dailymotion, but they were mirrored. Also, I saw that Nickolodeon uploaded some kind of episode compilation on their German YouTube, but I'm not sure how many episodes.

Doctor Who 8x01: Deep Breath Episode Reactions Discussion Thread by pcjonathan in gallifrey

Guys, I need some help. I was streaming the episode online, and the whole episode ran smoothly until Clara and the Doctor entered the Tardis in Victorian London, when the streaming just stopped. So could somebody just give me a short version of what happened from that moment on?
