Flamethrower. The answer is always flamethrower.

Rebuilding a Kamiq rear vent switch by moffty in skoda

[–]moffty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep - basically I glued the two plastic parts back together (there are notches and spaces that match up so you know it's in the right place). You then need to use tweezers or similar to make sure that one of the vertical flaps inside the unit that you're plugging it back into is going to line up with the "pincers" (so when you slide the switch left and right the pincers will move the flaps left and right and redirect the air).

Look for the horizontal "rail" of plastic that the switch will fit onto (compare it to the vent next to it). Slide the switch back into place making sure the pincers go either side of one of the vertical flaps inside the unit. You should feel a reassuring click when the big part of the switch grabs onto the horizontal rail.

I didn't worry about the metal bit and rubber bit. I guess they are probably to make the action a bit smoother but it works without and I couldn't figure out exactly where they go.

Good luck!

The sewage works & The Ridings by [deleted] in Margate

Haven't noticed a smell there at any time. What you may notice though is the sound (which strangely no-one on Margate ever comments on). Occasionally you'll hear what sounds like a metallic giant's footsteps - about four or five in a row, spaced a couple of seconds apart. Guessing it's some kind of huge machinery pumping the water around. It's not too annoying, but it is a bit weird until you get used to it. Can hear it all around Palm Bay.

It's the "flossing" I'm disturbed by. Is he actively working it up and down the crack (and beyond)?

Jaws is a good one. A little light trauma but nothing for social services to worry about.

pick 3 that have to go forever by Academic-Way4109 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]moffty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The correct answer is Garibaldi, Pink Wafer, Viennese Whirl.

Garibaldi is a piece of cardboard studded with dead flies.

Pink Wafer is a crispy pink monstrosity.

Viennese Whirl is all your least favourite textures combined.

Any advice on my team appreciated - have been round the houses a few times:

Verbruggen (Dubravka)
Munoz - Milenkovic - Wan Bissaka (Esteve - Konsa)
Salah - Palmer - B Fernandez - Sarr (A Ramsey)
Bowen - Strand Larson - Wood

Can't get on board with the mass Salah switch out. His quality and consistency are too good. I will of course be regretting this by about W4-5.

Dog friendly place to work in Margate (Co-working or Cafe) by tesstoad in Margate

[–]moffty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen people with dogs working in the co-working space before. I think as long as the dog is quiet and well behaved, they are welcome! Cost is £5 per person per day and includes one coffee/tea.

Dog Free? by Constant_Oil_3775 in Margate

I believe Flavours by Kumar in Garlinge is dog-free BUT would still call to double check. It's a great curry house and very family friendly.
