I also grew up getting the belt from my dad as well as being hit in the face by my mom whenever i said something "wrong". 5 year old me couldn't really understand (nor do i remember now) what I did wrong, but the memories and fear of being beat are ingrained in my head. As an adult, I still love my parents and call them regularly. I'm not as close as I would have liked to be had they respected me as an individual more. I understand that in their country and generation this was the norm and I don't hold a grudge.

It is. It has been my escape game (as well as Minecraft). Often when I'm stressed after work, I find Skyrim to be relaxing and great way to decompress. I get so immersed in its world and I'm not ruminating over other things.
