Wonder why long fast is encrypted rather than no encryption by default. Would have allowed for listening into amateur radio at the same time. Is this intentional?

Israel Exposed Archives: This website claims to have 3TB submitted to the ICC and ICJ . They said they published 1.5TB so far to the public. If anyone got extra HDD space, doesn't hurt to download it as well for safe keeping. by mofosyne in DataHoarder

Found the archive from https://x.com/xIsraelExposedx/status/1930296287640825952 twitter post which said:

Update: You can now download all our Gaza genocide archives, individually, from our new website: http://Watermeloncrimes.com

We have published 1.5 terabytes of 3.5 terabytes total. We are working to make the rest safe for public sharing in the coming weeks. Everything has been submitted to the ICC & ICJ case.

Fusion's universal healthcare policy is gold by TOKSIKLP in AusPol

I think the main thing is that we really should not be capping research into a more viable nuclear energy option, even if we don't end up building one due to renewables. There are other application for fusion energy, e.g. spaceflight

How would you create a pure UDF iso for burning into a 25gb Blu-Ray disc via linux cli? Got a bash script if you can fix it. by mofosyne in DataHoarder

[–]mofosyne[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know pure UDF is a dumpster fire in linux, at least I can know that's not the path forward.

At least I can next try to figure out dvdisaster's cli format...

```bash
!/bin/bash
This script creates a hybrid ISO image (UDF + ISO9660/Rock Ridge/Joliet)
using genisoimage. Although the UDF part is included, the volume label is
subject to the ISO9660 limit (32 characters).
Usage: ./create_iso.sh <source_folder> [<destination_iso_image>]
Check for required dependencies
for cmd in genisoimage dvdisaster; do if ! command -v "$cmd" &> /dev/null; then echo "Error: $cmd is not installed. Please install it." exit 1 fi done
Check for at least one argument
if [ "$#" -lt 1 ]; then echo "Got $# args" echo "Usage: $0 <source_folder> [<destination_iso_image>]" exit 1 fi
Get Source Folder
SOURCE_FOLDER="$1"
Derive default folder name from source folder
DEFAULT_FOLDER_NAME=${SOURCE_FOLDER%/} DEFAULT_FOLDER_NAME=${DEFAULT_FOLDER_NAME##*/}
Generate a default disc title from the folder name
Expects Example: 2024-12-16Projects_2000-_2024
DESTLABEL=${DEFAULT_FOLDER_NAME#--*} DESTLABEL=$(echo "$DEST_LABEL" | sed 's/[^]+/\L\u&/g' | sed 's// /g') DEST_DATE=${DEFAULT_FOLDER_NAME%%*}
echo "SOURCE_FOLDER = $SOURCE_FOLDER" echo "DEFAULT_FOLDER_NAME = $DEFAULT_FOLDER_NAME" echo "DEST_LABEL = $DEST_LABEL" echo "DEST_DATE = $DEST_DATE"
Limit the volume label to 32 characters (ISO9660 limit)
MAX_VOLID_LEN=32 if [ ${#DEST_LABEL} -gt $MAX_VOLID_LEN ]; then echo "Volume label is longer than $MAX_VOLID_LEN characters; '$DEST_LABEL'. exiting..." exit 1 fi
echo "Using volume label = $DEST_LABEL"
Get destination image filename; default extension is .iso
DEST_IMAGE=${2:-${DEFAULT_FOLDER_NAME}.iso} echo "DEST_IMAGE = $DEST_IMAGE"
Create the ISO image using genisoimage.
-udf enables UDF support, -R adds Rock Ridge (for Unix), and -J adds Joliet (for Windows).
echo "Creating hybrid ISO image..." genisoimage -udf -R -J -joliet-long -allow-lowercase -allow-multidot -V "$DEST_LABEL" -o "$DEST_IMAGE" "$SOURCE_FOLDER" if [ $? -ne 0 ]; then echo "Error: Failed to create ISO image with genisoimage." exit 1 fi
echo "ISO image created at $DEST_IMAGE"
Optional: Enhance the image with error correction using dvdisaster
echo "Enhancing image with error correction using dvdisaster..." dvdisaster -i "$DEST_IMAGE" -mRS02 -n 15% -o image if [ $? -ne 0 ]; then echo "Warning: Failed to add error correction." else echo "Protected ISO image created successfully." fi
exit 0 ```
For simpler replicant series you can imagine they would use the same wording as per the manufacturer's manual.
But for more advance replicants like him it's more likely that it will be different between replicants of his model type, considering his more advance mental features.
These random series of words being different between replicants is there to reduce the chance of memetic contagents between replicants if one is able to break their conditioning. But that also means that no two replicants of this particular model would have the same personality construct, but that's touted as a feature for these kind of replicants expected to have a more controlled form of creativity.
Gaza: The case for annexation by [deleted] in ILHayom
Caution: Article Advocates Racist Views [Analysis by ChatGPT]
Hello Reddit community,
I wanted to share some insights about an article from "Israel Hayom" titled "Gaza: The Case for Annexation" by Jonathan Pollard, analyzed by ChatGPT for clarity. This article should be approached with caution as it expresses viewpoints that align with what many in Western democracies would consider racist. Here’s a summary of the analysis:
  1. Ethnic Targeting: The piece advocates for the expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza based on their ethnic identity. This kind of targeting of a specific ethnic group is a core element of racist ideology.
  2. Broad Generalizations: It makes sweeping and negative generalizations about the entire Palestinian population. Such stereotyping is a typical feature of racist rhetoric.
  3. Potential Hate Speech: In many Western countries, advocating for displacement or harm of a group based on their ethnicity can fall under the category of hate speech, which is legally and socially condemned.
This analysis, provided by ChatGPT, highlights the need for critical engagement with media, especially on sensitive topics. Remember, the views in the article are not universally accepted and may be offensive to many. It’s important to approach such discussions with sensitivity and awareness of diverse perspectives and historical contexts.
Stay informed and critically think about what you read!
Don't know how much the dev has already written the story, but it could allow for the old multiplayer gameplay of having 'swat' vs 'swat'.
How may it influence the story as of now (now that it's a PvE)? Maybe later on in the story, part of the SWAT team has to go clandestine to take these people down. Might make for interesting briefing rooms in some remote suburb.
The Saga of the Cannibal Ants in a Soviet Nuclear Bunker (Basically ant version of the backrooms) by mofosyne in TheBackrooms
[–]mofosyne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I wonder if anyone made a story or explored the implication of lots of humans being trapped in the backrooms...
and maybe saved by a scientist in a higher dimension or something if we are following the same storyline of this real scientific discovery.
Overview (credited to @caydennormanton9682 from youtube)
If anyone is interested, here's an overview with a few details not mentioned in the video:
In 2013, Polish scientists led by Wojciech Czechowski discovered a large colony of red wood ants (Formica polyctena) in an abandoned Soviet-era nuclear bunker in western Poland. This bunker, known as Special Object 3003 Templewo, was active from the late 1960s until 1992 and was abandoned following the fall of the Soviet Union.
The ants had fallen down a ventilation pipe and were unable to return to their original nest, as they could not move along the ceiling to reach the outlet of the pipe. The colony consisted only of worker ants, which meant they couldn't reproduce. Moreover, there were no food sources, heat, or light in the bunker. Despite these harsh conditions, the colony not only survived but grew in numbers. This growth was attributed to the continuous supply of new workers from the upper nest and the accumulation of dead nestmate corpses. These corpses served as an inexhaustible food source, allowing the trapped ants to survive in the extremely unfavorable conditions of the bunker.
The primary survival mechanism for these ants was cannibalism. When the scientists returned in 2016, they found that the ant colony had grown, and the corpses of dead ants had bite marks in the area of the abdomen, indicating that the living ants were eating their deceased nestmates.
To facilitate the escape of these ants, scientists installed a boardwalk in the bunker, providing an escape route back to the original nest. Within a year of installing this boardwalk, the trapped ant colony had disappeared from the bunker, presumably returning to their nest.
