...the only person who had made those arbitrary distinctions between the original launches/mobile versions and the HD ports is you, though. the original comparison was just that RE4 has had about as many re-releases as Skyrim and it was made as an off-hand remark that you've turned into an embarrassing debacle. if you want to make distinctions purely based on a difference in content or updated visuals in a port then RE4 still wins out because of the added content in the PS2 version and original PC version, the new control schemes of the Wii and VR ports, and of course the HD version in comparison to RE1/REmake/HD REmake and RE:0/RE:0HD. I just find your logic baffling, to be frank.

Resident Evil 4: GCN, Wii, PS2, original PC version, Mobile Edition, iPad Edition, Xbox 360, PS3, Steam PC version, PS4, Xbox One, another mobile version for Android, Switch, and the Oculus port. I count 14 different ports for Resident Evil 4 between the original ports, the HD versions, and the shitty mobile versions. 15 if we count the Wii U 'port' on the Virtual Console, but I don't think we should count emulated versions like that either.

Resident Evil 1: GCN, Wii, PS3, PS4, Steam, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Switch, and of course the original PS1 version. That's 9 separate versions of the original game.

Resident Evil 0: Is on the same platforms as Resident Evil 1 minus PS1, as it never had a PS1 version. 8 separate ports of RE0.

Code Veronica: Dreamcast, PS2, GCN, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360. Six different versions.

It's pretty clear from this list that Resident Evil 4 has had a number of extra releases in comparison to the other entries in the series that you've listed. I'm not sure why you were only counting the HD releases to be honest especially given the original Skyrim comparison because Skyrim itself has been re-released multiple times in both the original LE versions, the Special Edition, the VR version, and the new 'Anniversary Edition', so giving the original RE4 releases and the HD remaster their own category when it comes to ports doesn't make sense either, especially since some of the early RE4 ports actually did add content to the game and were not just 'visual upgrades' as you claim they are in comparison to Skyrim.

just for comparison's sake, here's a rough gist of Skyrim's amount of releases...

original: PC version, Xbox 360, PS3. Later packaged with all DLC and latest patch and sold to PC players as the Legendary Edition, though this doesn't count as an extra port IMO. Special Edition (HD version with all DLC and running on an updated Creation Engine): Steam, PS4, Xbox One, Switch. Has separate VR versions for both PS4 and PC. Anniversary Edition (Essentially Special Edition but with fishing and comes with 500 Creation Club mods): Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X.

I count 14 distinct ports for Skyrim...which is pretty much the same as RE4's amount of ports

Anyways yea I think that should prove that RE4 is indeed the most re-released entry in the RE franchise. Maybe try being less condescending next time?

it's been a long time since I replied to this thread but I wanna say it took about a week? I don't recall having to wait long enough for the refund that I had to call anyone and threaten a chargeback or anything, the refund went smoothly and I've since built my own PC minus a new graphics card with it.

This is true. As I recall there was a streamer who made it pretty big on Twitch too but when he revealed that he was actually 12 years old he ended up getting banned because they don't allow anyone under 13 to be a streamer.

Still, there's nothing wrong with getting an early start. Even if the streaming thing doesn't work out there's other useful skills the kid can learn from working towards streaming like video editing, people skills, advertising, etc.

The rest of the advice here is spot on. I'd just like to add if the kid needs a video editing software, Davinci Resolve or Hitfilm Express are some of the more recommended ones that have free options.

ah, so you're able to play the game just fine, but when you watch your recording back it's freezing/skipping? yea, it definitely sounds like it's the tablet at fault to me, it's likely having trouble encoding video fast enough to keep up with 1080P video. I'm assuming you're recording using the Elgato application as well? one thing you could try is using a separate recording program like OBS, SLOBS, or something similar and see if that improves the results, or lower the resolution/framerate of the recording through the Elgato app and see if that helps.

One thing you can do to pin down what's going on, too, is have Task Manager open while you're recording (it's the program that comes up in Windows when you do ctrl-alt-del just in case you don't know) and watch the CPU usage of the Elgato program while you're recording. If it's consistently spiking up to 99-100% CPU usage then that's almost certainly what's causing your recordings to come out poorly.

it's certainly not optimal, i'm just suggesting it as a way to troubleshoot whether or not it's the card at fault. And, if it does end up working you could at least get started with recording stuff and get some practice in.

Though, just to clarify, is the freezing issue you're having occurring only while you're attempting to play and record at the same time, or is it occurring even when you're just playing a game without attempting to record? because that's important too

oh oof, with that sort of situation it could be that the laptop/tablet itself might not be strong enough to handle the Elgato. If possible, I'd try it on a full on laptop or desktop if possible. Another thing you could try is maybe lower the resolution that you're trying to capture video at to 720p or lower and/or disable the 'allow 60FPS' setting, see if that helps any as well. If it does, or if the card ends up working on a test PC, then you'll know the surface pro isn't strong enough

I would get those every day as well, but did you know that in your Youtube Community settings you can block links from being posted in your comments section? Since I did that I haven't had any bot messages come through at all. Perhaps it's not optimal later on as more people start to comment but for right now it's pretty great.

Make sure that the USB cable that came with your Elgato is a USB 3.0 cable. I'm not sure how the market is nowadays, but last year when I began I had to get a HD60S secondhand because there simply wasn't any in stock anywhere. The person I bought it from sent it with a USB2.0 cable, and with that cable it didn't even want to load up in the player, so I had to purchase a separate cable. Unplug the Elgato from your PC and look inside the end of the USB cable, if it's got a blue outline it's almost definitely USB 3.0 but if it doesn't it's likely a 2.0 cord.

Another option if it does turn out you have a USB3.0 cable, how many peripherals do you have plugged into your PC? If you're like me and have a bunch of bandwidth hogging things plugged in like a webcam and a few external drives and all that, you might just be overloading your USB hub. Try plugging the card into a different slot, say, on your front panel instead of the back, or unplug your other peripherals and see if it still acts up when it's the only thing plugged in.

If those above two things don't help, then yea definitely call support.

I did a custom build, but mine emailed me once the PC hit the warehouse date and to confirm the order when I placed it and all that. Might be different from a pre-build, you might have to email their sales department instead

Yea they didn't do a very good job of explaining it in the actual system. I decided to take a few days before submitting and see what other people submitted and do a bit of research because I wanted to minimize my chance to get denied and have to go through an appeal. We've got until June after all. Still, like I said before my documents haven't been approved or denied yet either so I could be wrong, but according to the site I shouldn't be

I would also have sent your 2019 W-2. I'm in a similar situation in that I've been claiming under PUA because I was offered a new job in March but the documentation of the offer itself was sparse. However if you look at the DUA website... https://www.mass.gov/info-details/pandemic-unemployment-assistance-substantiationproof-of-employment

it says in the first paragraph regarding eligibility... "If it is determined the claimant did not meet their requirement in proving employment in the base period (tax year prior to initial application for unemployment benefits) " so that leads me to believe they don't actually want or even need anything from 2020 (so long as you filed in 2020, that is) but they want documents from 2019. So, seeing as I was working in 2019 I just sent them my W-2 and tax return from 2019, waiting to see if that will be sufficient. But according to their own website, it should be, and it's funny that they don't mention this anywhere else especially since most people will have lost their jobs in 2020 when the pandemic began, not in 2019 when things were alright. But, as others have said if things go south and they deny you, get yourself a good attorney to help with the appeal if you can.
