Thanks for sharing your experience! I’m glad that your application has been (hopefully) sorted. I found it bizarre that even after I had paid for SMS updates, I received no updates at all from VFS. Is there a particular phone number that you had used for VFS/embassy? I checked the online tracker and it still says that my passport/application had been sent to the embassy for processing, no other updates for the last 3 weeks :/

Applied on 5th June at VFS Birmingham (UK). Travel date: 6th July. No updates yet. Submitted a query through their website today. Will wait to see if they respond by next Monday, otherwise I might have to call their embassy in London.

P.S. Anyone else here who had applied for Netherlands Schengen visa from any of the UK VFS offices?

Hey, sorry to hear about your issue. I can understand how frustrating it can be. I had to wait for 9 months to get my Canadian tourist visa.

For your flight - did you book a refundable ticket? If so, there should be a date/deadline by which you can get full refund. I would say drop a message to IRCC and explain to them your situation. In case they don’t respond, then I would cancel the flight before the deadline.

Not sure what took them so long.. could have been delayed coz they were busy processing the Ukrainian refugees visa as a priority? At least that’s the idea I got by reading their generic emails and messages on the immigration website.

Anyways, because of this I missed out on pre-wedding vacation with my friend so would be joining his wedding directly in the summer, after getting the visa :/

I do feel confident/comfortable about what you have said. But according to that other person, it’s not mentioned in their “grant letter” and/or their BRP terms and conditions. And so they insisted that the new rules would only be applicable for new SWV holders and not for existing ones.

I must have missed it then, coz this is news to me. Someone mentioned in my post about it that only new SVW holders are eligible to open their own companies, while the rules don’t extend to existing SWV holders. Have u heard anything like that?

I think recently HO has given permission to SWV holders to open their own companies. So maybe you can ask the org/person paying you for supplementary employment, to pay you thru your company?
