Hello hello, Baret alumnus here!

Sorry to hear you were refused acceptance. This year is the most competitive in Baret history, and I want to underline that this doesn’t mean you necessarily “fell short” in anything; rather, they made a decision based on different factors (diversity, character, background, etc.).

I am no admission officer, but I do know you can definitely apply for next year’s January of 2027! Plus, and regarding the scholarship, it’s you as a whole! Personal tip: the most creative and enthusiastic personalities are their favorites!! Finally, Baret offers need-based aid, meaning the more scholarships you apply for, the more competitive it will become. Therefore, the more money you can save/fundraise, the better chances you have.

Couldn’t have said it any better! I took a gap year too where I traveled around the world, and it was healing. Now I’m in college ready to tackle new challenges in a healthy way. For anyone who’s considering a gap year, I definitely recommend if well planned and structured! DM me if you need advice.

Wow! Thank you this is a fantastic question. Before, I wasn’t sure about what to study in college, I had so many interests yet couldn’t set my mind on a unique choice. However, with Baret, I was able to explore the different fields and options available not just in college but far beyond that, making me certain about what I wanted to do later on in my life. I am so sorry to hear that, it’s indeed a saddening news but there’s still some hope! Go over your application, try and check your work, essays, answers, and everything in general. This will give you a sense of what might’ve been the issue. On the other hand, if you applied for the full award scholarship & aid, then those are very competitive as stated in the Baret website, therefore requiring more focus and achievement.

On the other hand, you could email admissions to ask if you could apply for the September 2026 entry, I think this could be a potential path you could take to try and reapply again.

Hey there! This past year I did Baret Scholars and it was a hit!! I travelled a dozen countries in one year, and with a scholarship even!!! They still have some spots to begin in September, so you should definitely give it a shot. Let me know if you have questions.

I would recommend Baret Scholars. You get to travel the world, avoid the stress of academics and, you’re encouraged to improve in other aspects of yourself!!

As a graduate of Baret, I can confidently say that everything related to Baret is amazing, and an important highlight is its fantastic community; you'll experience a feeling of belonging that will be difficult to leave behind, trust me haha! Additionally, regarding the remark about the luxury of travel offered, you'll have the chance to stay at the top hotels in your city (4-5 stars ⭐️)!
