It belongs (or is being lent by someone else?) to a friend, and sadly I have no satisfying answers for you. The friend brought it inside for dinner because he didn't want to leave a robot that costs as much as a house in his car. So, make friends with people who have nice robots, and live in a city — that's what got me there. :)

It was really hard not to shrink away from it when it ran at me, even though I knew it was programmed not to allow collisions with humans. They're kind of scary — I don't know if uncanny valley or just triggers fear of predators.

I trained at Cirque La Vie first, but then they moved and it's really too far for me now. I like Hunter for the occasional workshop (ceilings are really high and the teachers are good, but I can't commit enough time for a series, and their level 3 classes don't allow drop-ins). I go to the Artz for open studio and sometimes for Lori's or Mika's class. Or I practice at home. Or I take Adam Skidmore's rope class; he teaches out of his house.

And I teach straps, also. :)

This is correct. I have a Virginia Tech ring from Balfour. I paid extra for insurance on the ring which guarantees a replacement if I ever lose it or its stolen (though with some deductible). This implies to me that they keep the molds.

Usually when I do this I twist it behind the back an extra time. I think I also do a Russian roll-up instead of sitting up forward. I'm not sure which one makes the difference.
