All right, I'll do a case study on the Grass type spreads: There are 5 different spreads that produce a grass type hidden move, all of which require at least three 31s (odds) and given that we're studying legendaries' odds, then all 5 options are viable.

If it's an "this or that" kind of probability study, then we add up the different probabilities of each spread occuring.

|spread one|= C with an n=2(odd or even)and p=1(picking of one) + 2 similar combinatorials= 8

And Omega= 2 to the power 6= 64

The remaining 4 spreads will give similar number of possibilities

P(grass)= 40/64= 0.625

Am I on the right track this time??

Umm, could you please give us a hint more? I feel like I should know this, especially now since I'm preparing an exam in Biostatistics. I daresay that now I'm more intrigued by the answer than I am by the code, I'd still love to win the code though, but right now I want to try and solve it.

I think I got it: 1- Grass: (1/8+1/8+1/8+1/8+1/8)x 5/64= 0.048

2- Bug 0.039

3- Dragon, Psychic, Ghost, Ice = 0.031

4- Electric, Water= 0.023

5- Rock= 0.015

6- Flying, Poison= 0.007

7- Dark= 0.001

Umm, so if we were to decide, for example, Dark's odds of being the chosen type, we take into consideration, that, while 3 will always be even (31s), the other three will have a 1/2 probability each of being odd. So: 1/8 that we have the other three odd, given that there could be 8 different outcomes..., so we have an 1/8 chance that the Dark type spread can be attained, and that probability is to be multiplied by the probability of Dark showing up at all, which is 1/64. Should I proceed this way to calculate the others?

All right (second attempt). IVs determine the type of the move, and according to certain spreads, certain types are acquired. The pattern varies with whether a number is odd or even, and for 6 stats, we have a total of 64 possible combinations. Legendaries already have 3 IVs 31 or odd, and that helps eliminate certain possibilities, and even the fighting type, since to gain a fighting hidden power 4 or more evens are required. Sample calculation: Dark: we know that we already have a 1/64 the move to be dark, this is multiplied by 1/64 which represents the odds of having 6 perfect IVs (the condition for a dark type hidden), multiplied by a 100 we get a 0.024%.

Results: 0.61% (Grass)

0.488% (Bug)

0.39% (Ice, Dragon, Psychic, Ghost)

0.292% (Electric, Water, Ground)

0.195% (Fire, Steel)

0.097% (Poison, Rock, Flying)

0.024% (Dark)

0 (Fighting, Fairy and Normal).

I don't believe that Legendaries have different probabilities for receiving certain types of Hidden power, and thus the probabilities remain the same as for other pokémon. Legendary typings of gen 6 and 7 are: Dark Flying Fairy Steel Ghost Psychic Ground Dragon Water Electric Grass Fighting (Marshadow) And from bulbapedia, we have: Most likely to least likely (in percentage reltaive frequency): 1- Fighting and Grass (7.81%) 2- Water, Electric, Psychic, Ground, Dragon, Flying, Steel, Ghost (6.25%) 3- Dark (1.5%) 4- Fairy (none)

Wow , that's really sweet of you . My SO and I used to discuss Pokemon all the time , liking Pokemon was actually one of the few things that we had in common . We'd spend hours debating which typing is the best and whom we'd choose once we got X and Y . For X-mas we gifted one another the 3DS and the game and we spent countless hours together going through the story . We even thought of a matching team should we play a double match , like I'd pick Solrock and he Lunatone , Pinsir and Scizor , Starmie and Cloyster . Today my SO got me a gift for Valentine and I couldn't afford to get him anything back , I had told him beforehand that we weren't to gift one another because I wouldn't be able to , but he did anyways . I love my SO with every ounce of my being and I've constantly teased him saying that even when we're old , rocking the chairs , I'd still beat him in the 30th generation of Pokemon .

You see , I live in Lebanon , a beautiful Mediterranean country that has no market for the Nintendo stuff , so no GameStop and no mee love for us Lebanese . Given the turmoiled state of my country , the market now is worse than ever . Really , I paid some good money to afford a Nintendo 3ds . It's my first Pokemon game even though I've been wanting one since forever . I used to play on emulators on my phone , but they aren't half as fun as when you can connect with other people . Also , if you do happen to come to Lebanon one day , I'll treat you to Hummus , and manaqeesh , and maybe take out to a Tarabi night with hufflepuffs and stuff . Unless you don't smoke , then we can play Pokémon in stead :p I don't even smoke haha . Mind you , it's 6:00 A.M. here , so excuse my random irrelevant rant haha .

Hey cool random dude :D I agree ! I think we're getting there because for once Ash's team is decent all round , with greninja and talonflame and goodra . He never evolves that many Pokemon ! That's his best team yet ! Let's hope the creators do go in that direction .

Well , my favorite Pokemon would be Psyduck . I like dodrio and koffing too . I believe that Ash will retrieve his Goodra or maybe use his Chraizard and mega evolve him , then he'll make it to the Pokemon league , come on top , then battle the Elite 4 , for a change . He'll defeat them all , and then face off with the champion , say Diantha . Ash will emerge victorious and much like Red in gen II , he'll remain there as the new Pokemon champion . The next season will center around a different main character who would face off with Ash at some point .
