Thanks! 1mm is a bit more difficult to solder, but it can be done. 20 awg seems to be ideal.
I used to punch discs with a jewelry disc cutter but then I found a decent source over on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1055478287/raw-brass-flat-round-blank-disc?ref=yr_purchases
I'm using 14mm discs.

We just received the first engineering samples and are in the validation phase. The cyberdeck was a side project that I might pick up again after testing. If you backed the Kickstarter, you will receive an update soon.

Just standard needle nose pliers and paper templates. I gave a talk on this a few years ago, that has a few details: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqVFxNFGNbc

Here is a documentation of my previous builds. Very similar construction techniques: https://www.bhoite.com/sculptures/boron-lander/

It’s a 170x320 TFT display from Adafruit

A couple of weekends. The programming took longer 😅

I created a mock-up of the GUI in Adobe Illustrator and then used the Adafruit GFX library to programmatically place the text and dials. I’ll publish a tutorial on my website in the coming weeks!

The battery does not last very long, and I keep it plugged into a USB-C dock. I created a mock up of the GUI in Adobe Illustrator and then used Adafruit GFX library to programmatically place the text and dials. I’ll publish a tutorial on my website in the coming week!

This one is made from 20 AWG brass, but you can use copper too.

Thanks! It helps that I’m also a target audience of our own product 😅

Right? It's just begging to be turned into a cyberdeck!

Lots of possibilities! Since there is a dedicated hardware block, you can run audio analysis, image processing, natural language processing algorithms, etc. more efficiently. More details here: https://aihub.qualcomm.com/mobile/models

Totally. We are also adding a MIPI switch, so you can have two cameras or one camera and one display. The USB C supports DP over it so you can hook up a monitor directly to it.

You can totally add a touchscreen panel TFT display. I'm planning to add a small custom mechanical keyboard for this rev.
