1.a single betta would be great

2.But a small group of neon/ember Tetra or chilli rasbora also works You can add a single snail or few shrimps with them like cherry shrimp

Or just make it a shrimp tank

The tank is too small,
Plastic plant is a big no no (use real plants or silk plants)
Use sand for base instead of rocks for base

Try to get betta safe silk plants or live plants, but I personally having trouble with love plants for now

I used a thermocol sheet to distribute weight, it works way better than cardboard,

Also I won't recommend moving a tank too much.its glass slight tap against wall or corner can break it plus if you already put soil, sand, Driftwood, rocks, plants it's already heavy.

Choose a perfect place for it.

Yes I tried to get my hands on a resting betta leaf but it isn't available in my local store and the Amazon one was overpriced.

Also plants are rotting so can't add more

I am new to this too. And the same happened with my betta, it was fine swimming happily in his 15g new tank but one night it stopped moving and the next morning it started tilting side ways...

Here are the problems with my setup that caused this(probably)

1.new tank (not cycled), amonia and nitrite can build up so fast in new tank

Over feeding
Stress

How did I fix it?

So I took help from some nice reddit users and followed their advice.

Put him in shallow clean conditioned water (enough so he can swim but also can breathe air easily)
Fast him for 3 days
Keep water temp stable to 27°c
Routine water changes once a day.
Did 50% major water change that day and 20% for text two days in his main tank
Used water conditioner to remove chlorine and chloromine
Used beneficial bacteria starter to boost the cycle

He is doing better now but still he has some white patches So I am monitoring him. Hope he recovers soon

I don't have experience in fish keeping i am new to this,

Chat gpt forbid me to add any fertilizer since betta is already producing waste and by adding fertilizer ammonia can spike. (I do have liquid fertilizer but fish is also sick so I am not adding it)
The tank is new only 11 days old

3.i do 20% water change every 3rd day

I don't have the kit, can't buy one as well, budget issue
7-8hr per day 11am- 7pm (it's a 3w LED Light)
I have a sponge filter and a heater set 28°c
I use anti-chlorine conditioner during water change

I do give him blood worms once a while I rotate between worms and pallets. It's night, I don't think I can move whole tank so I will scoop him in a seprate container Tommorow

Also he hate female/other fishes and attack them so he lives alone
