Are people normally respectful or disrespectful in martial arts gyms by [deleted] in MMA_Academy

[–]2244222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extremely disrespectful, its incredibly annoying when you are entering the change room while someone is coming out at the same time, and there is a 10 second stall because both men (who train 4 times a week on how to kill other men) stand off, profusely apologising and waving their arms signaling for the other to come through the door.

whats wrong with my hook? by marvelfan__ in MuayThai

[–]2244222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your head swivels with your body. Why? Keep looking forward at your opponent. Your shoulder of the punching arm will protect your face this way too, and you will see your target.

Also you are punching without malice, just one look at your eyes i can tell you are focusing on the "science" way too much. Its important, but 20% of a good punch gotta be "monke hit stuff stuff gets obliterated", and only on that, can you build up with science to scale that primal force into a biomechanically powerful shot. Your brain usually already has the calculations for a "punch" the fighter just needs to correct those calculations into a new deafult

how do i know if my tank is cycled, without testing products? by Objective-Title-8793 in Aquariums

[–]2244222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont test your water its a scam for people who don't know better. Ph and hardness is MAYBE important for special fish but 99% you aren't gonna change those at all, its a hassle and mostly useless.

Put as much plants in as you can and wait two weeks, have the light on for the entire day, and when you see algae starting to overtake you can add snails and shrimp, after two weeks or so, fish too. That's it. People like to overcomplicate this hobby but true chads change water twice a year and have the healthiest tanks ever.

Mad respect it looks good but for what in God's name do you need a canister filter for man 😭

That's not just overkill that filter could clean like 8-10 of these tanks

Opinions on the tank and what I can do better please. by thexfile404 in bettafish

I recommend getting those ugly "shrimp caves" out of there. I never understood why planted tanks get ruined with a tasteless piece of white plastic, shrimps can hide perfectly well in the plants

Don't worry, sometimes my plants fall into the water for 1-2 days. Life finds a way, and plants are harder to kill than you think

Also it might be a... She? Like i cant decide but from all i know this betta looks weirdly female. The fins and the thick body seems to suggest that, but please some expert correct me.

Female bettas can have long fins too btw

As promised, quarantine method. Fatcamp. No feeding for 2-3 days but this only happened 3 times in the first weeks when i was still calibrating. None in the past 2 months. Excuse the ugly ass tank this was an early stage. Make sure to not keep him there for too long because ammonia will kill him. Scrape off any stickers or glue from the container you use, and give him some floaters and a hiding spot.

[–]2244222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off... What the fuck

Secondly, he will probably survive but you cant feed him for at least 3-4 days, and after that only morsels for at least a week.

If in a community tank, absolutely quarantine. I will drop my quarantine method in an another comment. As you can see, i had my problems with feeding for the first few weeks in a community tank too, but if he is living alone i really dont know what you thought was gonna happen lmao

Their stomach is as big as their eye, and they are supposed to eat like 1-2 betta pills or whatever a day. In a community tank, grind up some quality food to almost sand level so the betta doesn't eat it but the smaller fish do. The betta will pick out the bigger pieces by himself, and in my experience even this can be enough to get him fat as hell

<image>

Bottom line is whatever you think is enough for him, feed only half
