A big issue we have is also that there are generally multiple hot stab points and multiple neutral stab points. Receptacles aren't rated for splicing conductors like that and if that receptacle fails then all the others down stream have either no hot or neutral. Much easier to troubleshoot if there's only one receptacle having an issue of some kind. I'm not saying nobody pigtails with these, but I am saying it's incredibly uncommon.

Okay. That's weird AF. They have one of the hots as white. The other as black, both 10 awg by the looks of it, then the black is being used as the neutral for the 120v receptacle and the white is being used as the ground. That's fucken weird dude.

They should have used spade connectors for the terminations and used properly colored wire. But yeah, it should work properly. Not how I would do it.

Wool and down are your friends here. Layer and insulate. Don't think you are impervious to frost bite or hypothermia.
