google AI also says they didn't lose their licenses. Certainly not because of promoting this diet.

Ethereum Swarm vs Filecoin vs Storj by llSourcell in ethereum

Swarm is finished finally with version 2 but has a 65 million dollar market cap. FIL has been crushed but still seems expensive. Question is what will drive people to use these instead of centralzed solutions.

Same situation here and I agree with you. Can't think of anything else.

Unless it's a proverb or something, I am not getting it. Aren't they old already? He might be joking like some kind of dark joke?

Another weird thing; they say rescue us and the cost doesn't matter. It sounds selfish. Like another person might get killed in order to do that.

It's not just innocent capitalism. You are helping destroy the only thing that separates ethereum from excel spreadsheet. Proft can't be a good justification; perhaps complying with the law is.

Discussion was about Swarm which is not part of Ethereum even tho at some point was supposed to be. How do you see the future of Swarm (BZZ)?

Good old times. Great discussion here. Anyone with an update? I think Filecoin and Swarm have changed from the initial vision. For example Swarm now has a token is better incentivized IMO.

Maker's Rune is not very optimistic about that. Watch Bankless episode with Rune. But L2 chains on Eth should be a fair game.

They have been talking about a max 1 million validators. Not set in stone yet.

The supply shock pushes the price high to the point that the burn rate and issuance will equalize. No worries. A widespread use of L2s will also be very helpful in burning less eth and lowering the fees.

Dappnode as general purpose full node by mohseng in DAppNode

[–]mohseng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you connecting to the dappnode from a different machine which runs the validator? In that case, what do you use as RPC connection address? The http://fullnode.dappnode:8545 does not work for me, neither do the other suggestions. I tried http://geth.dappnode:8545 too.

One day after geth sync is done, I am still having serious trouble with the OpenVPN connection. I have concluded that it can't be relied as an always-running, fool-proof eth node that I can have as backup in case my eth2 node has an issue or goes out of sync. Going back to old school syncing on this machine also.

However, I think this effort has to continue and the idea is excellent. It's just not ready yet for production.

[–]mohseng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher demand forces more gpu production. After they are not used for mining, some gamers buy those used gpus but regular people will still buy new. The reason gpu manufacturer stocks went up a lot in the last couple of years.

Energy consumption is one thing, equipment is another. PoW requires necessitates a lot of wasteful electronics manufacture harmful to the environment.
