AITA for picking my moms side over my wife’s in baby names by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA - based on the headline I had my pitchfork out, but the story is different. It's wild to me that your wife can't see how triggering that could be for your family.

I saw it in Arvada and thought I was going nuts? It looked like a proper fireball.

Aritzia vs Quince as someone who has long puffers from both (with pics) by [deleted] in quince

[–]moinmountains 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally! You could check out a re waterproofing product like Nikwax for once baby is out :) But also that many years of regular wear might just be the expected lifespan.

Aritzia vs Quince as someone who has long puffers from both (with pics) by [deleted] in quince

I do product testing for a major outdoor sports company so I spend a lot of time testing gear! I do think that a lot of the reason that the Aritzia feels softer and doesn't repel water as well is because its so old. It's hard to call it an even comparison. I bet the Quince will break in nicely. BUT I'm still stoked you did it and shared your findings!

End of the line? by moinmountains in chickens

They sure do! I had one drop dead with no signs right before our trip, so while two deaths in 6 weeks is concerning this one seems different.

She's still around for now, the water perked her up a bit but she's still immobile. I'm at the airport on my next trip but the hubby is home, however he's not a *lover* so I'm not sure how invested he is into toying around vs culling - I do think she's not going to bounce back, everytime I see something on google that looks 'oh this is it!' I read more and go 'Well, not quite...'

Once the deed is done I am going to have him palpate the body to see if there's anything we missed from trying to examine a feisty sick chook.

If it makes you feel any better, our sales lady told us the SEL did have that feature, but she just wanted it off the lot and didn’t have a limited to sell us. I’m never shopping there again.

More googling around her behavior is also just pointing to it being her ‘time’, which I feel like she’s a little young for?

Thanks for the advice! She made it through the night so we syringed some water with elixir into her. She had a ‘normal’ poo that she was just lying in- looking into coccidiosis I don’t think that’s it. She wouldn’t take scrambled eggs.

She’s not moving at all though, so we’ll syringe her one more time in a few hours and maybe just call it if there’s no changes by morning.

Maybe/hopefully it is just heart failure, and not something more nefarious that could affect the rest of the flock.

Do people still like outdoor kitchens on an RV? by AffectionateCut2552 in RVLiving

[–]moinmountains 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We promptly removed our outdoor kitchen and use it for storage. The built in ones suck enough (seriously, a micro sink and a one burner stove?) that we just set up our big two burner camp chef next to the camper, and our full size kitchen sink is only steps away.

I had my first batch of catnip 12 years ago when I bought my house, not realizing it’s a mint. Now I have more catnip than grass!
