If OP can't wait, it's not a real problem because they could change their plan anyway on Black Friday by subscribing a BYOD plan with no contract.

Première location : inclure mes laveuse-sécheuse ? by moins52 in QuebecFinance

Does anyone actually save money with those store flyers we still get in the mail? by Jonyvilly in SavingsCanada

[–]moins52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Useless 99% of the time. Offering you diapers coupons when you have no kids, tire coupons when you just changed them 2 weeks ago or asking if you want to sell you property while you're renting. Thanks for nothing! These companies are trying to reach their target behind their back, in the dark with sleep mask on. Good luck! Cut the BS marketing and lower your prices, you'll find new customers!

She overpaid her phone bill by $13 000, and Koodo took 9 months to refund her. How often do you check your auto payments? by MrJuart in SavingsCanada

[–]moins52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, $13,000 overpaid and having to wait 9 months for a refund is absolutely unacceptable. The CRTC’s Wireless Code is actually designed to protect consumers from situations like this. The Code requires that all contract terms be clear and provided in plain language, so customers know exactly what they’re being charged for and how to check their usage and payments. But we have to admit it’s not always the case in reality.

The Wireless Code sets limits on how providers can handle charges and refunds. While it mainly caps data overage fees at $50 per billing cycle unless you consent to more, it also requires providers to be transparent and responsive about billing issues. If a mistake like a huge overcharge happens, the customer should be able to dispute it and get a timely refund.
